The Team
KPMG’s Strategy and Value creation team is looking at hiring a number of exceptional candidates, across grades, to join their London office. The team is looking to attract professional, talented individuals who have a passion for identifying and creating innovative solutions for clients.

The role of the Strategy and Value creation team is to work with C-level Executives to identify, structure and solve their most critical strategic issues across the economic and transaction cycles. As part of a fast-paced and dynamic group, our consultants offer strategic advice on financial, business and operating models to corporate, public sector and private equity clients.

Within the Strategy & Value Creation team we have an established operations strategy and cost team, who work across a range of corporates sectors including oil & gas; utilities, consumer products, media & technology, and infrastructure serving UK, European and international clients. We work with our clients to help them clients design, identify and deliver significant changes to their operating model and cost base in line with their strategic objectives. The majority of our work is performing in cross-KPMG teams, bringing together the combination of skills required to address our client’s issues and we frequently work in joint client – KPMG teams.

The Role
As a Manager you will work with senior KPMG colleagues and clients to help them solve complex business issues. As a manager in the team you will be responsible for:
- Addressing complex market, strategic, operational and organisational issues, with a focus on delivering strategic cost and operating model projects
- Planning, designing and executing financial and operational analyses to support development of insights and identify potential efficiency / structural change opportunities for clients
- Supporting design changes to the client’s operating model to support delivery of their strategic and cost objectives
- Developing business cases and implementation plans to underpin successful delivery
- Leading workstreams / small projects and taking responsibility for all aspects of project and team management
- Participating in the delivery and presentation of client deliverables
- Working collaboratively with senior client staff and management, often in joint teams for the development of and delivery of recommendations.
- Supporting business development opportunities, demonstrating ability to build on-going client relationships and an external network of contacts
- Delivering thought leadership and knowledge management to support practice development
The person

You will have:
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire your teams and develop outstanding client relationships
- A mix of structured problem-solving skills (including strong numerical capabilities combined with sound commercial acumen), ability to deliver insightful recommendations that can be practically executed, excellent written English and oral communication skills (other language skills would be a strong bonus)
- Significant experience of delivering operations strategy and cost work (for example operating model design, zero basing projects) and a track record of delivering high impact projects
- Experience in managing teams and providing on and off project coaching to team members
- Personal drive to deliver results within tight deadlines
- A positive and collaborative attitude
- Experience in delivering cost and operating model projects either as part of an external consulting team or as an internal team member.
