Role Summary

This compliance role reports to a Senior Manager of Global Marketing Compliance. The group is a member of the Central Services, Global Marketing and Global Communications teams.

About Global Marketing Compliance
- Maintaining and implementing the Global Marketing Compliance policies
- Facilitating marketing and communications issues resolution
- Assisting in the development of Quality & Risk Management policies and positions
- Developing and implementing GMC awareness and accreditation programs to support Global functions and KPMG member firms
- Conducting marketing compliance reviews of KPMG content: GMC review of KPMG content to help ensure the messaging is compliant with KPMG policies.The GMC team works with many groups across KPMG, including the International Office of General Counsel (IOGC), Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM), Global Independence, Global Information Protection Group, Global Program Delivery, Global Digital Marketing and Global M&C Strategy and Brand to offer advice on KPMG content as well as member firm constituents.

GMC policies support KPMG’s Brand and Global Quality & Risk Management principles and legal guidelines for internal and external communications; these policies represent a minimum standard for KPMG member firms. It is important to note that key components of GMC are also included in the KPMG Global Quality & Risk Management Manual, which makes them a professional practice matter for partners and other client service professionals.

About Central Services
- Implement the global review process that encompasses all globally distributed marketing and communications materials.
- Review multinational marketing and communications materials, such as advertisements, articles, brochures, newsletters, news releases, scripts, white papers, and web site content for, to help ensure the materials comply with the current KPMG brand, legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
- Work with the IOGC, Global Practice Protection, Electronic Risk Management, and Marketing and Communications teams as well as other content owner groups in the course of reviewing the documents.
- Support and conduct training sessions to create the GBRC network of trained individuals involved in the critical components of the content submission processes in countries, functions and infrastructure groups.
- Provide counsel about the brand, legal, and regulatory standards to those involved with content submission as well as to external vendors who produce global marketing and communications materials.
- Perform quality review spot checks of content and take remedial action when required to ensure that acceptable quality standards are preserved.
- Assist with the development and documentation of escalation processes and other administrative procedures including policies such as Web Link and consents as imbedded in the IBRC Policy and Guidance.
Key Accountabilities- % of Time
- 50% Internal ‘network’ management and internal communications to ensure policies are adhered to in marketing and communications materials
- 20% Problem solving (balancing business intent against potential risks)
- 30% General GMC requirements: conducting GMC reviews of content, training, special projects, and other general activities that protect the brand and reputation of KPMG

Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Understanding of the business and the evolving legal, regulatory and professional environments, particularly where they operate
- Sense of ethics, stewardship and responsiveness
- Legal, regulatory or compliance experience in a highly regulated industry
- Good business and risk judgement
- Ability to work with others across disciplines, functions and geographies to resolve issues
- A global mindset and able to operate in different cultures and national approaches
- Strong understanding of MS Office
Description of level of Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in a related field
- For example, a degree in Business, Business Psychology, Education, English, Communications, Marketing, or similar and ideally some measure of training in legal and regulatory issues. Public accounting industry experience would be an asset.
Experience & Knowledge
- Highly accomplished marketing professional with a minimum of six years of experience
- Well developed experience in working with senior management
- Experience in policy development, governance procedures and processes
- Proven ability to balance business intent against potential risks
- Ability to present and train professionals
- Proven project management skills in a collaborative team environment
- Strong writing, organizational, communications and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail is a must
- Works well under pressure; able to operate in the context of very different cultures and in a highly matrixed environment
- Confident and assertive with excellent influencing and persuasion skills
- Ability to travel internationally as required. Flexibility in hours to accommodate varying time zones
