Manager, Content-Strategic Communications 12 month FTC

Overall purpose of role
There is an exciting opportunity for a 12-month secondment or fixed-term contract into Strategic Communications.
The role holder will play an integral part in creating thoughtful and insightful content in support of the firm’s mission and strategic priorities, ensuring that all communications are interesting, valuable, coherent and unified across the spectrum of KPMG’s activities in the United Kingdom.
Working closely with the Senior Manager, Content, this person will play a key role in in the development of rich, thought-provoking content to enhance the firm’s reputation, embed the corporate narrative and help to develop colleagues’ ability to produce great content (written and otherwise).
We’re looking for an experienced communicator who is a strong writer, creative storyteller and proficient in delivering successful social media campaigns. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to broaden their skills and work on major communications projects in a varied role.

Key Accountabilities
Development of written content
• Content development at KPMG - develop and deliver creative content that positions the firm positively and in line with strategic objectives
• Write op eds, blogs and thought pieces for use across multiple channels for a variety of audiences
• Support the Senior Manager, Content on speechwriting for senior leaders across KPMG
• Edit, proofread and develop the written content being produced across the business
• Manage content distribution to online channels and social media platforms, and support the firm’s employee advocacy programme
• Conduct periodic audits of competitor content, identifying gaps and areas where KPMG might capitalise.
• Work with the Planning team to manage our editorial calendar

Delivery of key KPMG Corporate Communications events and projects
• Working with others across the firm, play a key role in content delivery for key KPMG Corporate Communications projects and events, for example the Annual Report and Annual Partner Conference, ensuring that all communications support KPMG’s corporate narrative and content strategy
• Maximise use of research and thought leadership to offer compelling insights, enabling KPMG to leverage the team’s output amongst internal and, in particular, external stakeholders

Campaigns and Thought Leadership
• Devise and execute concepts in support of the corporate narrative and mission
• Help to plan, create and deliver flagship campaigns, underpinned the content strategy
• Support flagship comms projects led by the Strategic communications team to enhance the reputation of the firm
• Develop creative communications that position the business as a genuine thought leader
• Identify opportunities to work with others in similar roles in Corporate Affairs, leveraging the combined experience and intellect across the business to enhance output and visibility.
• Support the evolution of our social media and colleague advocacy output

Skills required
• Strong writing skills and a track-record of successful cross-channel communication (including op-eds, speeches and social media) for a variety of audiences
• Able to create ideas and turn them into compelling content
• Able to plan and devise strategic opportunities for communicating the firm’s mission and corporate narrative
• Energy, commitment and the ability to work at pace under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Able to cultivate and maintain good working relationships and manage stakeholders
• A team player with a collaborative approach. Ability to demonstrate ‘one team’ behaviours and foster a positive working environment.
• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• A sound understanding of KPMG’s business.

Our team
Our Strategic Communications team sits within the Corporate Affairs function. Working closely with other Corporate Affairs teams, Strategic Communications is responsible for:
• Planning: Rigorous communications planning, anticipating and acting on the risks and opportunities that affect the bigger picture
• Campaigns and channels: Planning and executing impactful, cross-function campaigns and channel optimisation.
• Content: Creating compelling and consistent content.
