As part of this vision the Investor Insights Programme was established to engage with the investor community on the future of audit and how we, as an audit firm, can add value to them through the audits we conduct on their current, and potential, investments. The objective is to listen to and understand investor needs and determine the actions we, as a firm, should take in response. Engaging with investors is vital to ensuring our work remains relevant. They are the primary readers of our audit opinion and listening to what they have to say and acting on that information is something we have always taken very seriously.
In light of the initiation of several market reviews and profession-wide concerns, ExCo has requested that a more ambitious programme be developed and implemented. To deliver such a programme will require a dedicated team of people who can develop and own an annual engagement plan and associated activities. We are now looking for a talented Assistant Manager with strong organisational skills to join us to help manage the programme on a day-to-day basis, working with the Programme Director, Senior Manager and sponsoring Partners.
The role will involve managing the schedule of meetings, liaising with Partners and secretaries to ensure they are booked and that feedback is collected from them, running event days, managing the internal and external mailboxes, etc. The role will work closely with professionals in audit and other specialist teams to project manage the creation of thought leadership for the community.
You will be expected to assist with the management of the programme from planning through execution and will need to interface with audit teams, internal specialists, Marketing/PR, Learning & Development, Finance and others.

Roles and Responsibilities

Assisting with engaging with the Investor Community
- Run event days including ensuring everything required at the venue is going to be there on time, setting up the venue, greeting attendees and acting as the point of contact for issues.
- Manage the 1-2-1 meeting schedule including liaising with secretaries to ensure meetings are booked, assisting with preparation for meetings by collating content, track meeting completion and chase feedback.
- Collate all information on internal resources available for investors (conferences, membership to Number 20, access to events and programmes etc.)
Assisting with developing content for the programme
- Collate thought leadership produced by the firm, create lists of what has been produced, circulate to the team and store within a central repository.
- Manage the central bank of content including creating and maintaining file structures, uploading content as it is produced and ensuring the Content Tracker is up-to-date and easily searchable.
- Project manage the creation of new content including planning meetings with content experts, co-ordinating with copywriters and Create, maintaining version control, sending to reviewers, collating feedback and managing distribution.
- Track where feedback is required from meetings, events and content releases and liaise with partners to ensure it is completed. Collate all feedback into a single, easily-readable document and ensure that the Contact Database has been updated where feedback is received from contacts within it.
Assisting with communicating about the programme and its findings
- Use the Contact Database to identify people in the firm who want to be informed about any interactions with specific investors and prompt the relevant Relationship Partner to keep those people up-to-date. Ensure that they receive any feedback from the investor. Use information received from people in the firm to update the Contact Database.
- Manage the sending of communications and content to the Investor Community including managing the drafting of emails, ensuring the appropriate people are reviewing the emails and content, then sending and tracking any feedback received and updating the Content Database where required.
- Regularly review the website, update key contact data on the site as required and manage the upload of new content as required.
- Track and process emails to the internal and external mailboxes. Manage the completion of any responses required by liaising with the team, with Relationship Partners and SMEs (Subject Matter Experts). Ensure all necessary parties are kept informed as mails are received and responded to.
Managing internal process
- Assist with developing the annual budget for the programme using the annual engagement plan, liaising with Finance for rates and templates
- Maintain a spreadsheet of expenditure planned, committed and spent. Chase and code invoices. Flag any risks of overspend with the Investor Insights Programme Director.
- Schedule governance meetings, prepare agendas and circulate pre-read. Take minutes and actions where required.
- Prepare the monthly report and manage the review and approval process within the team. Submit to the Steering Group and ALT (Audit Leadership Team) and respond to queries.

Qualifications and Skills

- Experienced at managing a project to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and the work is completed to budget
- Well organised and able to manage time effectively
- Good at communicating and able to be clear and concise when asking for input from others
- Good at building and maintaining relationships across the firm
- Experienced at basic cost management and budgeting
- Able to develop monthly reports on progress and achievements
- Able to spot potential problems and escalate
- Basic data analysis and data management
- Basic SharePoint skills such as creating folders and organising content
