Forensic - Using specialist accounting, investigation and business skills in assisting clients involved in commercial or regulatory disputes or in the investigation of fraud and impropriety. Working in the team will mean getting involved in a broad range of projects, i.e. Fraud investigations, and tracing assets.

KPMG Forensic’s Investigations team is involved in some of the largest investigations across the financial services and corporates sectors. We enjoy a reputation as one of the world's leading specialist advisors. We have established Forensic practices throughout our UK and European network, where increasing demand for our services has created numerous opportunities.



We are seeking a Director to join the team in our London office. As part of our team, you would lead projects or significant project work streams covering areas such as:

-

Fraud and misconduct;

-

Disputes and litigation;

-

Anti-bribery and corruption;

-

Financial misstatement; and

-

Regulatory compliance / enforcement.



The role


This role is a leadership position in the Investigation team, and the successful candidate would be expected to develop KPMG’s market presence, take responsibility for innovative client delivery and marketing strategies and excel in thought leadership, whilst leading projects and managing work streams for client assignments. The individual will work closely with Partners and other Directors in the team on sales pursuits, with a strong focus on growing market share.



The role undertaken by the individual will depend on the type and circumstances of each project. The role is likely to include leading on large investigations and compliance assignments and related propositions, and will frequently be based outside London. The individual will lead large teams and will be expected to lead engagement with clients on projects. Each project will generally incorporate review and assessment of data / evidence and controls, drafting of written reports and client liaison.



The individual will also be expected to originate significant new business opportunities, generate marketing material, share knowledge and develop the overall team. The individual will be based in KPMG's London office but will need to display a flexible attitude to working and be prepared to travel to/work at other locations across the country and overseas.



The person


To succeed in this demanding role you will need to have proven skills and experience in all or most of the following attributes:



-

Currently in a Forensic or relevant leadership position at either an advisory firm (Big 4, mid-tier or general consultancy), a financial / corporate entity, or a regulatory body.

-

Outstanding technical knowledge of Investigations processes and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, with a demonstrated track record in the following areas:

o

Taking responsibility for all aspects of engagement delivery;

o

Developing market-leading and/or innovative solutions to clients’ fraud and misconduct issues;

o

Managing business-as-usual reporting to regulators; and/or

o

Advising clients who are going through regulator-driven investigation or attestation processes.

-

Proven track record of strong people leadership skills – demonstrated experience of managing large teams and projects with demanding stakeholders and multiple work streams.

-

Ability to develop and mentor individuals including through the performance management process.

-

Demonstrated ability of articulating complex and technical findings in both written and oral presentations for a variety of audiences.

-

Proven track record of market-leading thought leadership – can include, but is not limited to, leading training for firms’ investigation teams, article writing, presentations on technical topics and/or participation in industry and working groups.

-

Confidence and ability to communicate clearly and quickly establish credibility with clients and KPMG leadership teams across our network of firms.

-

Demonstrated sales skills and experience, including creating new ideas to expand the Investigations service line and leading sales pitches to generate new work for the team.

-

Developed network of relevant contacts.

-

Experienced in scoping projects, especially in setting and maintaining budgets and developing new methodologies; demonstrated track record of understanding and managing the risks and financials associated with client engagements.

-

Proven ability to manage and motivate with diverse teams drawn from various parts of the organisation and backgrounds.

-

Strong technology experience, including analytical skills and knowledge of the products of relevant software providers and how these can affect our clients.

Exceptional analytical skills and problem solving, self-motivation and possess an enquiring mind.

Excellent team working skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure are essential.

Confidence and ability to provide credible challenge both externally and internally.

Understanding of the broader range of services to clients presented by KPMG, including an understanding of issues affecting other KPMG practices (Tax, Audit, Advisory).

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

Desirable skills


Professionally qualified (either accounting or compliance qualification), or significant equivalent management experience in a corporate entity or regulatory body.
