The role
This role sits within the Internal Communications (IC) team and reports into one of our Senior Internal Communication Business Partners.
The IC team supports the business in two ways: through multi-channel editorial, publishing and production; and by business partnering to provide communications support to a variety of business areas and projects.
The successful candidate must have experience of internal communications that drives employee engagement. The role involves working with both the team and internal clients to source meaningful internal information and is an exciting opportunity for someone with two to three years of relevant experience, interested in furthering their career in internal communications across the full range of internally focused activities.
As a member of the Internal Communication team this person will be a key part of the content engine for all online and offline channels, including the weekly news channel (Newsroom), quarterly updates and other regular communication and engagement activities originating from the leadership and central teams.
Responsibilities
•Support the Senior Internal Communication Business Partner with the development and delivery of internal communications strategies and plans.
•Key duties will include successful implementation and rollout of plans, key message preparation, writing and editing content, drafting and designing communications, event logistics and management, effective use of channels, including internal social and other online channels, segmenting audiences and measuring success.
•Liaising with stakeholders from across the business, including Partners, Performance Leaders and colleagues, building trusted advisor relationships with them over time.
•Bringing innovative and creative thinking to the table, supporting the Senior Internal Communication Business Partner to introduce fresh approaches to delivering internal communications.
•Managing creative/production briefs, working alongside in-house and external suppliers to deliver products that meet client objectives.
•Working with colleagues in the broader Internal Communications team to align messages and contribute to the wider forward-planning process of the team.
The person
The role requires a self-motivated individual who is able to build relationships across the communication team, with marketing colleagues, business support and wider into the business. Demonstrable experience of working in communications – in-house, on a consultancy basis, or in an agency - is essential, along with experience dealing with complex, sensitive and challenging projects.
Skills required
•Excellent writing, editorial and presentation skills. Able to identify, craft and deliver key messages, narratives and information in succinct and engaging ways.
•Strong project management skills, with the ability to self-manage, prioritising a wide number and variety of tasks, and focused on high quality delivery.
•Credible in stakeholder management and relationship-building, with the ability to influence stakeholders about the value of good internal communication.
•Able to deal with ambiguity, effectively articulating messages that are sensitive, unclear or still evolving
•Strong technical knowledge of key communication channels and content including intranet, print, film, digital and social media.
•The ability to understand how internal communication project activities need to integrate with all other communication and corporate activities
•Demonstrate drive, enthusiasm, commitment, a willingness to learn and be able to use their own initiative.
•A strong team player, who is used to working collaboratively.
•The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
•High quality written and verbal communication skills in fluent English.
•A sound understanding of the professional services industry
