Instructional Design Developer

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to create high quality new learning programmes for the KPMG Learning Academy. The Instructional Design Developer will contribute to the design and build of blended, engaging and interactive learning programmes to address specific business needs. Learning programmes will leverage technology enabled learning and the principles of social and collaborative environments (70:20:10), all to be suitable for a client facing workforce.

Role Overview




- Assist the KPMG Learning Academy team to create new blended learning programmes, utilising rapid authoring tools, digital learning delivery tools and multimedia

- Provide input when refreshing existing learning programmes in terms of technology enabled learning and70:20:10 design principles

- Support instructional designers, senior instructional designers and engagement managers in the efficient delivery of learning programmes

- Work with the off-shore graphics team to create visually engaging and brand compliant graphics that are effective from a learner and cost perspective

- Work with KPMG and client Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure suitable evaluation metrics are defined at design stage and are measurable in terms of quantitative and qualitative data of all programmes

- Review/edit existing content in light of post course evaluation, making recommendations to change specific activities so that the required learning outcomes and objectives are achieved

- Assist the KPMG Learning Academy team to work with clients to identify where learning content can be harnessed using existing materials

- Design learning content to agreed, consistent processes and methodologies that avoid replication and duplication of effort

- Familiarity with SCORM standards and specifications

- Develop relationships with learning technology experts and 3rd party suppliers

- Support the KPMG Learning Academy team in enforcing protocols for knowledge and training repository



Experience and Background

- Creating highly engaging, blended learning programmes

- Designing effective learning programmes to address business issues in a client centric organisation

- Applying new learning technologies and utilising technical development tools including rapid authoring tools

- Evaluating business impacts of learning

- Working with internal and external subject matter experts to design effective learning programmes



Qualifications and Skills

- Learning Instructional Design

- Learning Technology Use

- Some experience of stakeholder management

- Advanced PowerPoint

- Strong experience of developing using Authoring tools including Articulate Storyline and/or Adobe Captivate
