The Role
This person will have responsibility for overseeing the delivery of key tax transformation projects within KPMG�s Compliance & Transformation practice. This will include winning new work by taking a lead role on proposals and actively pursuing discussions with client and targets as well as overseeing the delivery of projects within the team. A typical project will include working with multiple stakeholders and teams across Tax and Accounting/Finance (at both the client and KPMG).
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking a lead role on the delivery of proposals and other targeting meetings for tax transformation opportunities;
- Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships with both existing and new clients;
- Generating additional work opportunities by identifying areas of value add for clients;
- Acting as the Project Lead on the overall delivery of tax transformation projects within the team;
- Leading a project delivery team, which may include both KPMG team members, and client employees;
- Understanding and reviewing current ‘as is’ business processes (across both Finance and Tax), and considering the efficiency and effectiveness of the design of these processes (including related controls), and where process improvements can be achieved;
- Leading workshops and undertaking interviews to understand business processes, alongside capability analyses for the three key areas of people, process and technology;
- Identifying and considering tax risks, along with the controls required to manage these risks, including tests of ‘design’ and ‘effectiveness’ for how well the controls and processes are operating.
- Considering the split of activities between functions, and designing future ‘to be’ business processes;
- Creating detailed process flow and mapping documents to support these business and functional processes;
- Designing manuals and guidance on key processes to support the various business functions e.g. accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger/ finance team, tax etc.;
- Advising clients on their tax function design, including people, process and technology;
- Supporting clients with providing training and knowledge transfer;
- Supporting of the delivery of tax transformation opportunities within our wider global compliance outsourcing engagements; and
- Coaching and mentoring junior team membersinside KPMG
- Building and developing positive constructive relationships both with clients and inside KPMG
- Assessing problems from multiple angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered when making decisions
- Proactively driving forward new and creative ideas which benefit the client

You will have some of the following skills, qualifications and experience:
- ACA or CTA qualified (or part qualified) – preferred but not essential
- Experience of tax transformation projects
- Experience of tax compliance and tax advisory work
- Experience of working on tax risk management projects, including process improvement
- A sales focus and a desire to build relationships with new clients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills. Communicates with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear.
