Forensic Senior Manager

Date: Oct 20, 2021

Location: London, United Kingdom

Company: KPMG UK

Role and responsibilities

We are looking to build our FITA team for a number of reasons:

• To support our Audit firm in their assessment of fraud and fraud risk and improve Audit quality in this area;
• To increase our knowledge base in identifying, assessing and analysing fraud risks and fraud controls; and
• To develop and sell an external proposition to support non-audit clients with their fraud risk management controls and frameworks.

Audit support will include:

• Reviewing the Audit team’s assessment of fraud risks, understanding audit procedures mitigating those identified risks and reviewing Audit’s assessment of laws and regulations, in particular anti-bribery and corruption and money laundering. The role may also involve assisting the Audit teams with specific procedures relating to fraud risks.
• Supporting the Audit team in responding to actual and/or suspected frauds, including undertaking shadow investigations on behalf of/in conjunction with the Audit team. This will include scoping the shadow investigation, liaising with the client’s management and external parties such as lawyers and third party investigators, reviewing the investigation undertaken by the clients and/or third party investigators, working with the audit team to identify the required additional audit procedures and reporting back to the Audit team on findings.
As part of our Regional Forensic team focussing on FITA, you can expect to be involved in a variety of Audit and non-Audit fraud risk related Forensic projects in areas such as:

• Fraud and financial mis-statement shadow investigations;
• Fraud risk management reviews;
• Regulatory compliance reviews; and
• Fraud risk assessments.

The candidate should expect to work on a variety of project-based work over a cross-section of industries and geographies.

As a Senior Manager, you will be expected to build relationships with the Audit team and be prepared to challenge their assumptions, analysis and existing ways of identifying fraud related risks. You may also be required to liaise with Audit leadership and Audit DPP.

You will be reporting to senior members of KPMG’s Forensic team and other parts of KPMG as required.

You will also be expected to oversee and train junior colleagues and take responsibility for the quality and timeliness of deliverables.

The role will also require you to take the lead on FITA business development activities, including marketing, knowledge sharing and practice development.

It is expected that Senior Managers will originate opportunities, such as fraud risk management and investigations through both existing internal and external relationships and develop new relationships. We are looking to build a wide-reaching external proposition with assets such as a fraud risk database.

The candidate will have a designated home office, working under KPMG’s hybrid working model of both home and office working. They will need to display a flexible attitude to working and be prepared to travel to/work at other locations within the UK and internationally.
