Roles and Responsibilities

As part of this role, you can expect to:
Client Delivery
• Mobilise and lead workstreams on IFRS 17 projects/programmes, and be accountable for delivering client outcomes.
• Manage and influence client staff, contractor staff and KPMG employees as part of blended project teams.
• Lead design and delivery of people, process, data and/or system solutions.
• Own and review of analysis and reports delivered to clients

Business Development
• Leverage internal and external relationships to support Partners and Directors drive business development and sales activities
• Lead the development of core IFRS 17 propositions
• Lead the pursuit of business development opportunities including writing proposals.
• Understand the role KPMG can play in delivering market opportunities and convert to sell-on work and sales

Practice Development
• Lead the development of processes and initiatives to scale delivery
• Lead the development of in-house solutions to support our key IFRS 17 propositions
• Lead, and form teams to grow and promote the practice internally and externally.

People Management
• Proactively develop of junior team members through formal training and informal coaching & mentoring.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, candidates typically have excellent insurance Industry experience, strong IFRS 17 experience (and/or insurance regulatory change) and an in-depth knowledge of insurers’ finance and risk functions.

We are looking for:

1. Robust understanding of IFRS17, and underlying accounting logic.
2. Able to design the process, data and systems target architecture that underpins the design of a IFRS17 reporting solution.
3. Detailed understanding of implications on finance and actuarial function, and able to design a target organisational structure
4. Able to define process and control change required

Additional skills & experience
• Deep knowledge of the Finance function and Finance operating models
• Strong people manager who can manage teams and develop/coach others
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders
• Programme and project management experience
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, applied to insurance and finance data domains
• Ability to shape high level presentations and deliver clear messages amidst ambiguity to senior executives/stakeholders and business managers
• Ability to challenge information that has been provided by other team members, ensuring the information is ‘fit for purpose’ and at the right level of granularity

Additional skills and experience (preferred)
• Accountancy qualification with strong post qualification experience (or equivalent experience).
