Job Summary

Our DA business comprises approximately 1,700 people across the UK, with revenues of over £400m+ and is at the heart of the Firm's Trust and Growth agenda, working with clients across the economic and transaction cycle. The team works closely with colleagues across Tax, Audit and other Advisory teams; it is a multi-disciplinary and international environment
The DA business has ambitious 3 year growth aspirations and is a multiplier for the wider firm.

Deal Origination is a key differentiator in securing mandates within Deal Advisory.
We have an immediate need for a Director to lead and coordinate our Big Deal origination efforts – to make a step change to our origination capability.

Clients still value relationships and our ability to execute, however our ability to bring deal ideas to clients and better facilitate success drives greater opportunities.

This requires senior resource to unlock – a Director with existing origination skill set, proven ability / track record to generate ideas / angles, works collaboratively with sector leads and Deal Strategy Value Creation and has a network of senior client relationships across corporates and the PE community.

Specific and significant experience of Deal origination is essential for this role.

Key roles and responsibility

• Providing structure and leadership for big deal origination efforts
• Works closely with DA sector team leads, the Deal Strategy and Value Creation team and PE partners
• Drives thinking, analysis, ideas and findings, including high quality client deliverables
• Understand and articulate the value creation/equity story of potential targets
• Review the robustness of analysis performed by the team (onshore and offshore) and ensure it stands up to challenge.
• Ensure the Firm's risk management frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively.
• Role model firm behaviours with colleagues and clients by living the values of KPMG.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this varied and demanding role you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
• Strong academic and numerate background
• Works and networks well with colleagues
• Extensive experience of managing advisory or transaction related engagements
• Significant exposure to Deals environment and origination efforts
• Strong personal impact and self-awareness
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical skills including the ability to interpret data, and generate insights
• The ability to lead and operate in high performing, multi-disciplinary teams
