Job Description
The National Markets Restructuring team in London are looking for a Director to join their market leading Early Options team to run M&A processes in accelerated timescales. The role is based in London but will involve oversight of the Early Options business nationally.

As well as Early Options processes, the National Markets team work on mid-market restructuring engagements, delivering a blend of stakeholder advisory and insolvency appointment work in respect of mid-market distressed businesses. The team is not aligned to specific sectors and specialisms. Applicants however should expect to work across all sectors as situations and client demand.

The Role Responsibilities:
- Day to day lead for delivery of Early Options projects, taking the role as a key contact on engagements both in London and nationally.
- Build trusted relationships with all key stakeholders in client engagement delivery, in particular with the specialist turnaround investor market, but also with Boards, senior management, lawyers, other advisers, regulators etc.
- Manage teams of colleagues working on the engagement, ensuring effective delegation and also multiple workstream delivery.
- Manage engagements and projects to scope, time, quality, risk and budget complying with KPMG engagement management practices.
- Communicate views and insights (both in writing and verbally) in an effective and compelling manner to clients and KPMG colleagues, able to adjust style to circumstances.
- Work with Partners / Directors across the business development cycle, including development of proposals and client sales presentations.
- Identify, validate and develop new opportunities appropriately.
- Coach and develop team members providing high quality developmental feedback
- Identify, design and lead practice development initiatives, coordinating other members of the team
- Significant involvement in business development activities, including developing pitches and proposals to win new
work.

Qualifications & Skills
- The ability to develop sustainable client relationships and a proven track record of developing and commercialising new relationships.
- Impressive academic background, ACA qualified or equivalent and appropriate insolvency qualification (JIEB qualified) with an ability to take insolvency appointments.
- Excellent business review and report writing skills.
- Commercial and business acumen.
- Ability to communicate well across a range of operational and financial staff at all levels. This is also often in challenging circumstances given the financial positions of the organisations we typically work with.
- Personal impact, comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders

Experience & Background
- Extensive experience of running M&A processes within an accelerated timetable.
- A sound understanding of transaction structuring in the turnaround environment and healthy working relationships with the specialist investor market.
- Experience of running formal insolvency and advisory engagements and of advising and working alongside a range of stakeholders.
