The Team
KPMG's Integration & Separation Advisory Team is a growing and dynamic team. We work with both vendors and acquirers on mergers, acquisitions, divestments, exits and joint ventures, both pre and post-deal.

Our four key proposition areas:

- Separation: Supporting vendors to plan and deliver a credible, discrete standalone entity to the Buyer with value preserved and business continuity in place from Day 1 including supporting the definition and implementation of transitional service agreements.

-Integration: Pre and post deal integration design, planning and implementation to integrate the target business into the Buyer’s organisation whilst mitigating risk and enhancing value.

- Synergies: Understanding the potential benefits and costs generated through a proposed transaction, and the associated plans, interdependencies, risks and issues for the delivery of base and stretch case targets.

- Joint ventures: Helping respective partners ensure the key value considerations are identified and prioritised early and delivered through the associated business plan, leveraging each parties specific contribution and capabilities and managing broader stakeholder relationships.

Our integrated and tailored approach provides our clients the necessary insights and capabilities to help deliver value and make their transactions successful.
We work closely with colleagues from KPMG‘s broader Advisory and Tax capabilities, who provide in deal and post deal support on strategy, M&A, restructuring, financial, commercial and operational due diligence, and post deal implementation.

The Role
You will gain exposure to a wide range of integration and separation transactions in Financial Services (FS)

Key Responsibilities

Build, maintain and commercialise your personal network of senior client executive contacts and relationships, originating work for the FS Integration / Separation team and the broader firm
-
Maintain a broad understanding of the key drivers influencing Financial Services and their impact on our clients, their strategy and key business priorities, in particular around key regulatory changes

Develop issues led and insights driven thought leadership, providing an opinion in the market on the most topical and relevant points of interest to our clients

Identify the ‘problem statement’ and develop tailored solutions which deliver commercial and pragmatic outcomes to our clients biggest challenges and opportunities

Lead complex, multi-disciplinary programmes, often cross border, accelerating momentum to deliver value faster, whilst helping our clients navigate through the ‘bear traps’ to identify and mitigate risk early

Work with in-house client teams and other third party advisors to identify and protect the key value considerations and addressing the ‘softer’ people related matters

Develop our solution based methodology and tools to ensure consistency in quality and service delivery locally and through our Global Centre of Excellence
- Support the objectives and priorities of the Financial Services sector and client service teams, through strong relationship management and excellent client service
- Draw on knowledge and experience to provide high quality and deep insights and recommendations to our clients

Support and contribute to the growth plans of our Integration & Separation Advisory business

There are multiple roles available.

Skills, Qualifications & experience required
- Substantial experience working within a Financial Services Deals/M&A environment
- Substantial Project/programme management experience
- The ability to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline will be key, leveraging personal networks (internally and externally) in order to originate new mandates in key priority areas and leading the development and delivery of proposals and pitches
- Demonstrable evidence of l
eading the delivery of major multidisciplinary engagements across the transaction lifecycle, providing oversight to the team and being responsible for our outputs and deliverables

- Individuals should be comfortable and familiar working in the high pressured yet often ambiguous and flexible conditions that are typical in a transactions environment

-Candidates will have extensive and current integration and separation advisory experience in a consulting firm or industry environment
- You will need to be willing to travel as we mainly work from client sites and our projects tend to be cross border in nature
