Job DescriptionThe Team:


The Reward practice at KPMG is a dedicated national team that advise on the design, tax, market practice, and governance, regulatory and accounting aspects of executive and broader employee incentive structures. The team sits within the People Services practice, which advises on a wider range of people issues within an organisation, from both a tax and wider HR perspective.

The available role provides the opportunity to join our regional Reward team in London which sits within KPMG’s National Market’s business, servicing those clients based primarily in the UK. The National Markets client base ranges from technology start-ups to FTSE 250 companies, allowing for an exciting mix of work from a highly diverse client base. This provides an opportunity for consultants to work closely with other internal functions (Tax, Accounting, Legal and Advisory) to deliver joined-up and commercial solutions to clients.

Both the KPMG National Market business and the Reward team have grown significantly in recent years enjoying consistent double digit growth. A new partner appointed to lead the national team and director level appointments have already made to support the existing team in key areas. Additional senior level recruitment is needed to continue to drive the significant growth which we have enjoyed as a national team in two of our key regional locations. This role offers candidates the opportunity to join a business area which has wider leadership support to build upon its success and continue to grow and develop its local team and reputation.


The Role:


We are looking for talented individuals who are eager to lead and develop teams in a regional market place and to support the existing partner, bringing to life the national strategy for the Reward team in London Region. We are looking for individuals who are motivated and excited by the opportunity to create something new in the marketplace, with the autonomy to create an identity and brand for that team in the local market. The role offers a great degree of autonomy to influence and shape the national strategy and assist with the implementation in the local market place. There will be strong support from the national and local leadership team to help the right candidate implement their plan and establish their network at KPMG.

- Building relationships with other teams within KPMG and with clients and multipliers externally to maximise our penetration in the local market place;
- Working closely with other members of the local and national People Services management team to ensure that opportunities are effectively shared around the people agenda;
- Developing the existing local team, and helping to identify areas in which there are opportunities to strengthen the local teams with new resource;
- Leading and managing client projects such as designing share plans, advising on the structuring of tax efficient management incentive plans, global incentive plan reviews or advising on the implications of corporate events on existing arrangements;
- Maintaining, developing and ultimately managing KPMG’s strong relationships with clients, including discussing broader ‘people issues’ with clients and recognising opportunities to assist clients across different specialisms (e.g. pensions, employment taxes, legal services);
- Working with other teams (for example, private client, M&A, Corporate Finance) to deliver integrated advice to clients in relation to their business issues;
- Ensuring that the training and development needs of the local team are satisfied, from both a technical and non-technical perspective, as well as contributing to the development of training nationally;
- Helping to develop innovative solutions and opportunities for clients, and being part of initiatives to bring those solutions to market;
- Advising on technical issues and supporting the team’s knowledge management.

Background and experience:

- The applicant will be a reward / share plans specialist with experience of listed and unlisted and UK and global share plans work.
-It is expected that the successful applicant will be a solicitor and/or CTA or ACA qualified with experience gained in the share plans team of a large accounting or law firm or equivalent experience.
- They will have experience of advising on plan design, drafting plan documents and advising on the tax, legal and regulatory aspects of share plans and other employee incentives arrangements including experience of advising on the incentive aspects of M&A transactions. This would ideally include experience of private equity arrangements.
