KPMG in the UK is a leading provider of professional services, which include audit, tax, and advisory. Risk Consulting is one of three business within Advisory Services. Using a wide variety of technical and sector-specific skills, KPMG's Risk Consulting team proactively helps clients increase profits whilst reducing reputational, operational, financial and other risks. We are experienced in managing diverse issues including; cyber, fraud, regulatory compliance, risk frameworks and modelling, capital efficiency, corporate governance, dispute resolution, deriving value from contracts and many more.

The Role:

The role will be working in the Cyber Security, Banking practice within Risk Consulting. Our banking clients are increasingly under cyber-attack and under regulatory scrutiny to demonstrate effective management of cyber risk. Our specialists provide independent, jargon free advice and advanced technical capabilities to help our clients proactively manage cyber and technology risks to drive value from their business information assets whilst protecting business.

Our services broadly include:

- Security Transformation • Assessment and Assurance

As a Cyber Security Director, your focus will be on Banking, and you will have the opportunity to drive all of the cyber, technology, and banking risk services and to deliver key projects to clients.

The Director role covers 3 key areas (Market Focus/Issues Led and Culture & Motivation)

- Business/Client Development – Relationship and sales origination/building a pipeline of opportunities
- Technical Propositions – Business led commercial proposition development to drive and meet market demand. Building relationships with other parts of the firm and binding offerings together
- People Leadership- Lead/manage/nurture the team/identify gaps and build technical skills
Reporting to the Banking Partner Lead within Cyber Security, the Cyber Security Director role involves:
- Leading sales origination/business development initiatives and acting as an integral part of the broader Technology and Cyber Security Leadership team
- Contributing to the overall Cyber strategy by identifying where there are opportunities for growth and developing the strategy to capitalise on Cyber Security risk opportunities in this sector
- Being responsible for expanding our Cyber Security services in the Banking sector
- Taking responsibility for delivery of existing projects and leading multiple engagements on a day to day basis with the assistance of Senior Managers/Managers in the team
- Taking responsibility for the overall delivery for client engagements
- Building and managing excellent networks and client relationships (typically at CIO, CFO, COO, CISO or Head of Technology level) across a range of organisations
- Actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities, as well as managing sales activities such as responding to RFPs, bid management, proposal writing and client presentations
- Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG, but in particular in the wider Banking areas
- Coaching and developing team members both as part of our overall Performance Management process or on specific engagements
- Contributing to practice management e.g. training, knowledge management
- Travelling in the UK to region offices and in particular regularly attending the Canary Wharf offices; and travelling in the UK or internationally supporting client delivery
- Acting in line with KPMG values at all times

The Person

- Experience of the Banking sector including working with large global banking organisations
- Experience of working at the senior level as a Cyber Security Lead and Consultant
- Commercially aware and with industry relationships that will enable achievement of revenue in the region of £1.5+ million per year
- Wide industry exposure with a depth of knowledge in one or more services
- Proven experience of successfully leading, managing and delivering cyber and technology advisory and assurance services to large/medium, multi-national clients
- Proven experience of delivering technical and security advice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience, extensive relevant sales experience, negotiation and project management skills
- Sound understanding of risk management in professional services environment
- Extensive Cyber Security consulting experience is desirable (“Big 4” professional services or Technology consultancy (Accenture, IBM, HP etc)
- Batchelor degree qualification in Security, Technology or relevant Professional Qualifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, M. Inst IISP, etc.)
- MBA or Master degree (Desirable)
