Role Summary
The Origination Executive forms a key part of our strategic plan to further increase our market share and accelerate growth in our M&A practice across regions & sectors and will be a key player of our growing origination team.

The Origination Executive’s main responsibility is to generate new business meetings through lead generation (telephone/email/Linked In) and networking. You will be responsible for speaking directly to business owners and executives to effectively position the firm and generate new business activity. The key target market will include Private and Family Owned businesses including Private Equity backed businesses. You will report directly into the team but will be required to work autonomously.

An ideal candidate should have the following:

- Proven track record in organising & attending meetings at Executive level - CEOs/MDs/Business Owners
- Commercial understanding of business & M&A process
- Knowledge/understanding of what makes a good ‘deals target;
- Be self-motivated and able to work without supervision
- Takes personal responsibility and accountability for your own work
- Confidence and a track record in new business generation
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to hunt for new business

Main Responsibilities will include

- Generating new business meetings for the M&A team as a result of post deal & niche sector marketing across the UK and attending where appropriate
- Contacting prospective businesses and targets by phone/email/social media to generate new meetings for the M&A team
- Creating a pipeline of opportunities across the UK.
- Identify and spot potential opportunities to start new business conversations with prospective clients.

Working with the Corporate Finance team supporting key account management & deal transactions:

- Preparing pre-meeting briefing papers on prospective targets
- Researching targets and using financial and corporate intelligence platforms such as FAME, Mergermarket and Pitchbook and other online databaseYou will work closely with colleagues across the M&A team in regions, sectors and the Private Equity Group and M&A, as well as connecting with the wider deals colleagues.
Working alongside the head of origination, you will be a key team member in developing and delivering the ‘go to market’ strategy which will significantly enhance the growth of the business.

You should demonstrate the ability to create and develop strong relationships with individuals at a senior level.

Qualifications and Skills

- Degree level preferred – ideal background in accountancy/business or executive recruitment
- Highly motivated, ambitious self-starter willing to take advantages of the opportunities this position offers, but also a team player.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Personal drive to deliver results.
