Job Description
The Team

At KPMG our FS Data team works to enable our clients from a broad range of top tier banks, to optimise the use of data to achieve their business strategy, and to implement a data driven business.
As a Manager within this team, you will have a proven track record as a Data Architecture specialist. Our Data-HQ team is growing at a fast past and as this continues we want to ensure we are fostering an enjoyable and supportive place to work

The Role

As a senior manager you will be working with a broad range of top tier clients.
You will be expected to be an SME with a proven track record of advising clients and delivering large projects in strategy, design and implementation.
You will not only be comfortable in diving into the technical details but can translate these into business terms to solve client issues.
With our team experiencing rapid growth you will take a lead in building and developing the data architecture sub-capability and helping our people grow.

The Person

- End to end Data architecture design
- End to end design of Data Warehouse and Big Data solutions
- Data model design including relational, dimensional and No-SQL techniques
- Data Integration technologies and techniques like ETL, ELT, real time data ingestion and API based integration
- Hadoop based technologies such as Hortonworks and Cloudera
- Cloud technologies including AWS, Azure and Google
- Designing data platforms to support advanced analytics and AI/Machine Learning capabilities
- Architecture governance and data management including data standards, design principles, data quality, metadata management and data lineage

As this is a consulting role, you will be expected to:

- Provide compelling and well thought out solutions to problems of high complexity
- Lead the design of overall data architectures and deliver leading practice solutions
- Architect solutions that contain a mix of cloud based solutions and on premise legacy applications
- Act as a data architecture SME on large transformation projects, advising our clients on strategy, design and implementation
- Lead large KPMG and client projects of 8+ people where you are expected to manage delivery, resources, budget, and risks and issues
- With work stakeholders to understand scope and develop business cases for transformation programmes based on industry insight, defining the roadmap to ensure the achievement of the planned benefits
- Have in-depth current sector experience in either Banking, Capital Markets or Insurance and understand key business drivers and key regulations in the industry (e.g. GDPR, BCBS 239, IFRS, AML, MiFID II, Solvency II)
- Build lasting client relationships with senior stakeholders, actively building a network and range of experience to help address client needs
- Build constructive working relationships within KPMG and the industry across different teams, functions and countries at all levels
- Identify profitable opportunities and sell-on at client work
- Be involved in the sales lifecycle, leading proposal and RFP development
- Make a significant contribution in supporting a market proposition/capability and wider practice contribution
- Have a keen interest in future technology trends and use these to develop and drive market propositions/capability
