Job Description
The Financial Crime Technology team sits within KPMG Risk & Compliance’s Technology function and is an established team that helps clients to assess, assure, review, test and improve their financial crime systems using innovative Data Analytics tools and approaches. It represents a critical growth area for DIS.
The successful candidate will be required to combine client delivery and technical sanctions knowledge, with Business Development, helping to build a new client services, and managerial skills, helping to build the broader financial crime team.

Responsibilities:

Hands on technical capability, helping to deliver our Sanctions services and expand our delivery team.
- Development of Sanctions screening propositions
- Project delivery: from initial client consultation to presentation of results, you would be responsible for the delivery of client facing projects, being the main day to day point of contact for senior client contacts.
- Working with forensic teams, lawyers and regulatory authorities in adversarial and sensitive situations involving fraud or regulatory investigations.
- Engagement Management: leading multiple large, complex work streams in rapidly changing environments
- Building relationships – individuals will be required to build and sustain relationships with clients and internally within KPMG
- Risk management: individuals will be required to identify and manage risks, ensuring the Firm's risk management frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively.
- Developing people: individuals will need to demonstrate the ability to give clear directions, as well as positive and constructive feedback. They will coach less experienced staff and actively assist in the development of others.

Qualifications and Skills:

- An excellent understanding of the technical infrastructure for payment processing within Retail, Commercial and Investment Banking environments
- An awareness of the market trends around configuration, calibration, tuning and testing of the software solutions used for customer and payment screening
- Experience of reviewing or implementing end-to-end sanctions screening solutions
- Experience of reviewing the processes connected to sanctions screening, from customer onboarding, KYC, due diligence, through to screening and alert review
- Experience in major investigations, preferably leading the technology and data workstreams of these projects and interacting with senior client stakeholders including MLRO’s, Legal Counsel and CROs

Experience and Background:

The ideal candidate will have extensive, current experience in sanctions screening processes and technologies and market considerations, as well as best practise use of Data Analytics to address client’s needs in this space.
Proven experience in Sanctions projects specifically involving SWIFT messages, sanctions list management and streamlining, good guy list development, sanctions screening rules development.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical analysis to a non-technical audience.
