Working within KPMG's Financial Crime Technology team this new role requires a combination of Sanctions technical skills, third party solution awareness, client contact, business development and project management.

The Financial Crime Technology team sits within the KPMG’s Technology Risk & Compliance function and is an established team that helps clients to assess, assure, review, test and improve their financial crime systems using innovative Data Analytics tools and approaches.

It represents a critical component to KPMG's growth strategy and is where much of the innovative early thinking takes place on financial crime prevention and other data driven projects.

The successful candidate will perform a client delivery focused role, which typically involves the management, manipulation and analysis of data and transformations using innovative techniques to extract the necessary intelligence from related data assets. The candidate will be involved in a wide range of financial crime projects with a particular focus on sanctions, in both payment and customer screening contexts.

The work is highly varied, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to enhance and take their skills to the next level by gaining strong consulting and business experience whilst developing their ability to manage work streams, projects and budgets.

Responsibilities:
• Whilst on client engagement ensuring teams are adequately able to carry out both reactive and proactive data analysis of large volume of data, structured and unstructured, utilising a wide range of database management systems, reporting systems and visualisation software
- Solving complex client or project issues
- Working with forensic teams, lawyers and regulatory authorities in adversarial and sensitive situations involving fraud or regulatory investigations.
- Delivering value added assurance services to clients.
- Managing and supervising project teams in terms of:
- Quality of deliverables
- Ensuring deadlines are met and risks quantified
- Developing complex procedures and end to end procedures.
- Assisting with scoping, internal financial management, managing delivery risk, production and initial review of deliverables.
- Building relationships and managing client stakeholder/relationships on projects
- Coaching and mentoring more junior team members both on and off engagements.
- Developing internal networks and maintaining relationships with colleagues across other teams within KPMG.
- Taking a proactive lead for knowledge management within a specialist team
- Actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities, as well as managing sales activities such as proposal development and assisting with client presentations.

Qualifications and Skills
:
This exciting role will fully utilize the candidates programming, data analysis and data management skills. Strong technical skills are essential, as candidates will be expected to develop solutions either individually or as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a number of the following skill sets and experience:
- Thorough knowledge of SWIFT messages and international banking
- Specialist knowledge of SWIFT message linking via bespoke designed automated systems, designed to analyse and provide insight into a scalable number of transactions
- A functional understanding of international sanctions, regulations and anti-money protocols.
- A solid understanding of control systems and feedback loops.
- Designing and reviewing data layouts and ensuring that they are fit for a purpose
- Performing Data Quality Reviews - manipulating and clean large data tables to ensure that data meets standards and objectives
- Ability to resolve any data strategy issues concerning quality, consistency and growth across client databases
- Other related Data Management experience in Data Governance, Data Standards documentation, Master Data Management, and Data Integration
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identifying patterns within data to generate business insight
- Significant experience with either of the following data manipulation software: SAS, SQL (Oracle/SQL Server) or other Broad knowledge of the finance function and the importance of management information within organisations.

Experience and Background:
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical analysis to a non technical audience;
- Proven experience in Sanctions projects specifically involving SWIFT messages, sanctions list management and streamlining, good guy list development, sanctions screening rules development
- Knowledge of Sanctions filtering technologies, for example Fircosoft and/or SafeWatch
- Tenacious problem solving attitude, particularly when helping Clients obtain the data required.

Any experience with the following will be advantageous:
- Management of consolidation and maintenance of sanctions lists for look back projects.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and analysis (such as regression, clustering, sampling, social network analysis)
- Any accounting (especially audit) experience ERP systems knowledge e.g. SAP, JDEdwards and Oracle.
