Job Description
The Team - Trader Surveillance


KPMG are looking for a manager with strong consulting skills to help clients detect risks within their business through the use of data analytics, on both structured and unstructured data (voice analytics and text analytics). This will involve the detection of a wide range of risks, for large financial institutions, including: market abuse, misconduct, fraud and financial crime.

The Role


This role is part of KPMG’s Forensics Data Analytics practice.

The successful candidate will have strong consulting skills with a broad understanding of using data analytics and technology to resolve client’s problems to drive insight from large volumes of data, including the detection of risks.

This role will involve working alongside strong technical staff, including Data Analysts, DBAs (Database Administrators) and Data Scientists. The successful applicant must be able to work with both the client and the technical teams. They will be comfortable leading project teams, delivering engagements and advising senior clients.

The applicant will also need to be able to help build and grow the business - this includes expanding existing work, identifying new opportunities and creating and delivering sales materials.

Key Responsibilities:

- The ability to understand client’s issues, devise innovative solutions to address them and then work with the technical team to deliver the solution to the client.

- Strong Consulting skills: working with clients to devise solutions, becoming the main point of contact for clients.

- Deliverables: overseeing and creating high quality outputs for clients in the form of presentations, slideware and written reports as well as developing new and innovative consulting offerings.

- Engagement Management: leading multiple large, complex work streams in a rapidly changing, high pressure environment.

- Building Relationships: building and sustaining relationships with clients and internally within KPMG.

- Developing Others: giving clear direction, constructive feedback and coaching of colleagues.

- Risk Management: identifying and managing risks, ensuring the Firm's risk management frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively.

The Person


Qualifications and Skills:

- Experience of business consulting, data analysis and the Financial Services industry
- Good understanding of methods and databases for analytics and data visualization
- Strong presentation and written skills with clear technical articulation and advisory manner

Experience and Background:

The ideal candidate will have a strong consulting background with extensive experience in consulting in relation to data analytics, with good knowledge of current technologies and issues in the financial sector. They will have experience running multiple projects and large work streams in this area with very strong written, presentation and communication skills.
