Job DescriptionThe Role

We have an immediate need for an additional Senior Manager role within Insurance Corporate Tax to deliver high quality tax advice and lead client relationships in the Lloyd’s and London market sectors to demonstrate that we have depth in technical expertise and presence in the market to become the clear choice. There is a huge opportunity for the firm to win significant tax engagements from these organisations as part of wider business projects (e.g. Brexit contingency planning, IFRS 17 and finance transformations) as well as projects focusing on UK and international tax reform (e.g. BEPS, tax strategy, corporate criminal offence, loss relief reform). We need a Senior Manager that will not only provide high quality tax advice to the Lloyd’s and London market sectors but will also work with the partner group to build a deep and broad network within the industry so that KPMG has strong relationships and is well positioned to identify and pursue these opportunities.

This individual will need to have an excellent understanding of the impact of UK and international tax reforms on these insurance groups and should display a proactive approach to engaging with clients and be able to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely.

The Responsibilities

This role involves working on a range of projects and clients. The work includes:
- Providing tax structuring and tax advice to mainly Insurance clients including the growth areas of BEPS, Corporate Criminal Offence, Brexit and Structural Reform
- Developing and leading client relationships, specifically required to help develop new relationship across the market
- Understanding the client's business and helping to identify areas for the provision of tax and other services
- Strong understanding of the broader commercial, regulatory and restructuring issues
- Deep understanding of the insurance sector is required
- Being involved in business development activity and working closely with the wider insurance practice outside tax.

- Ability to build client relationships
- Qualified CTA or ACA/CA or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent UK corporate insurance tax knowledge is essential plus an awareness of broader tax, regulatory and accounting areas
- Good insurance industry knowledge
- High level analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
- Ability to lead and drive projects forward
- Task management skills
- Ability to build teams and develop as a coach and lead staff
