Forensic - Using specialist accounting, investigation and business skills in assisting clients involved in commercial or regulatory disputes or in the investigation of fraud and impropriety. Working in the team will mean getting involved in a broad range of projects, i.e. Fraud investigations, and tracing assets.

Job DescriptionCompliance reporting solutions are a rapidly expanding part of KPMG Forensic’s Integrity Due Diligence and Corporate Intelligence services. Our reporting solutions are KPMG’s way of leveraging human and technological capital to help our clients address a variety of key integrity and regulatory risks We are seeking Compliance Researcher to join the team in our London office. As part of the
team, you will be involved in providing Quality Assurance and Work Stream Management for two compliance-driven projects:


Astrus Enhanced Due Diligence: Astrus is a KPMG brand of due diligence reporting which utilises internet and deep web research as well as technology-driven screening tools for the purposes of identifying Politically Exposed Persons (“PEPs”), sanctions, negative news, and other issues of concern related to company third parties


Know Your Customer (“KYC”) reporting: this project employs the above methodology with a focus on rapid delivery of reports within the Life Sciences sector.



Running Enhanced Due Diligence engagements, and leading work streams as part of larger projects, with minimal supervision from Managers, Directors and Partners

Liaising directly with clients and senior members of the KPMG team by delivering reports, answering detailed research queries and providing updates.

Training, managing and developing teams of UK staff of between (on average) 3 and 5 people

Managing teams of offshore (India and Hungary-based) staff as part of large international and multi-firm engagements
Ensuring that client work is delivered to the highest quality standards
Ensuring that projects are delivered to deadline, within budget and in compliance with KPMG ethical standards
Promoting a collaborative spirit, maintaining a positive attitude when working under pressure, and supporting team members during challenging situations
Direct involvement in the ongoing enhancement of existing compliance services and the development of new services

Experience and Qualities:


Experience of client-facing responsibilities at a Big 4 professional services or international corporate investigations firm.


Experience managing Due Diligence/public records research engagements (preferably including management of both onshore and offshore teams)


Technical knowledge of the KYC provisions of anti-money laundering regulations


Strong managerial skills on small projects and experience of working on large and complex projects


Experience of drafting reports and other deliverables suitable for presentation to a client


Ability to articulate complex and technical findings in both written and oral presentations for a variety of audiences


Strong people skills - ability to help others set their goals, inspire and develop junior colleagues


Confidence to be able to quickly establish credibility with clients


An enthusiasm to get involved in marketing activity and in developing compliance reporting within the wider Forensic practice


Highly motivated to pursue a rewarding and enjoyable career with KPMG Forensic


Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and problem solving, self-motivation and possess an enquiring mind


Strong team working skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure


Ability to understand and manage the risks and financials associated with client engagement
