The Team

KPMG’s International Standards Group (ISG) is the nerve centre of the international network of KPMG’s departments of professional practice, sitting at the forefront of KPMG’s response to the changing global financial reporting, auditing and regulatory landscape.

The Role

This role is in the ISG’s communications team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in developing global messaging and guidance on the accounting and business impacts of changes in the global financial reporting landscape – through an IFRS lens. You’ll also play an important role in providing guidance to help our auditors perform high-quality audits.

The role requires:
Strong communications, publishing and project management skills;
Familiarity with the financial reporting and auditing landscape; and
A ‘can-do’ attitude coupled with a strong appetite for innovation and helping others develop.
You’ll be expected to manage other communications specialists.

Key responsibilities:
Work alongside subject matter experts in the ISG to project manage, author, edit and publish written and audio-visual content on financial reporting and auditing.
Coach and mentor subject matter experts in effective technical writing.
Manage internal and external web pages and supporting content with support from the Knowledge Management team in the ISG and the Global Digital Marketing team.
Review, update and present the ISG’s guidance on effective writing and publishing processes and techniques.
Apply the in-house style guide and KPMG’s brand guidelines to ensure that all publications issued are of the highest quality.
Help authors to repurpose existing content, to generate new, related publications without duplicating effort.

Excellent communications skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas simply and deliver key messages effectively in internal and external communications. (Essential)
Excellent spoken and written English skills. (Essential)
Strong project management skills including defining activities and timescales, and managing and negotiating with immediate team members and other people in KPMG’s global network, to deliver projects on time. (Essential)
Strong stakeholder management skills including building relationships internally, able to influence and persuade, and to resolve conflicting priorities. (Essential)
Able to develop others through on-the-job coaching. (Essential)
Able to see the big picture while having a keen eye for detail! (Essential)
Will adopt a digital-first approach, ensuring content and tone of voice is fit for purpose across a multi-channel distribution strategy (website, portal, email, video, infographics, etc.) (Essential)
Able to manage numerous projects simultaneously and operate in a matrix organization. (Essential)
Familiarity with financial reporting and the needs of preparers and users of financial statements. This could be evidenced by an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and/or an advanced financial qualification (e.g. CFA, MBA, Master’s degree in Finance or equivalent), or equivalent experience. (Highly desirable)
Basic familiarity with the requirements of the major new IFRS accounting standards. (Desirable)
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. (Essential)
Intermediate to advanced VBA and/or SQL programming skills. (Desirable)
