Job Description
The Team:

— We help Civil Servants make a difference to the lives of people right across the UK by ensuring that they have the learning and development interventions they need to do their jobs
— KPMG currently leads a talented consortium of learning and development experts who work as a team to deliver a Core Curriculum and bespoke courses and programmes for civil servants across the UK and beyond
— You will be involved in the largest learning and development intervention in the UK that will fundamentally improve the way that civil servants learn
— We have already delivered a comprehensive suite of learning solutions, utilising digital technology and blended learning solutions, to help the Civil Service achieve this ambitious transformation

Job Summary:

— The Commercial team provide commercial support for all aspects of our learning delivery, from inputting to the scoping and qualification of new requirements to sourcing, contracting and Onboarding of new suppliers (to meet both our CSL contractual and SLA requirements and internal KPMG risk management procedures), allocating work orders, purchase orders and supporting transition to our Service Centre.
The Commercial team is an integral part of the project providing challenge to the broader team to ensure we are delivering real value.

Key Accountabilities:

— Supplier management in a managed service environment, including sourcing, contract negotiation, onboarding, performance management and dealing with IP issues
— Support the business to drive commercial outcomes through effective procurement and supplier management practices
— Lead and manage procurements in line with OJEU requirements
— Work at pace to tight client deadlines while remaining focused on the commercial goal

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

— Strong commercial acumen, ideally supported with formal procurement or supplier management qualification
— Knowledgeable in contract law
— Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
— Excellent verbal and written communication skills
— Extensive knowledge of working with Suppliers

The Role:

— Sourcing and onboarding of new suppliers to support business needs
— Managing the relationship and performance management of some of the 40+ suppliers engaged to design and deliver the core curriculum topics and a growing pipeline of new curriculum/programme opportunities sold to specific departments
— Manage internal interfaces with the wider operational team including: Finance, Project Operations, Curriculum, Engagement team, Communications, Service Centre, Finance, Security and areas of the wider firm: Quality and Risk Management and Contracts Unit
— Manage external relationships with the CSL commercial team and some government departments
