Job Description
The role has the successful candidate playing a critical part in ensuring the commercial viability of the Infrastructure team. Reporting in to the Commercial Lead, the commercial analyst will provide the drive, advanced analysis, processes and information to maintain commercial control and smooth operations of the Infrastructure team.

KPMG UK are embarking on a Digital strategy focused on a major transformation of the firm’s IT landscape, to revolutionise how KPMG deliver technology services to its clients and end-users. As a Commercial Analyst in the Infrastructure team you will be expected to deliver a fundamental element of this future-looking strategy whilst also ensuring the current in-flight services are not neglected. The fundamental element lies in overhauling what and how Infrastructure charges for its services to clients as well optimising the processes to implement its recharging models.

The Role:

- Design, implement and manage the recharge processes across the Infrastructure function to maximise cost recovery of Infrastructure services
- Review, scrutinize, and develop operational process flows (i.e. timecard tracking and reporting, monthly billing cycles)
- Drive cost efficiency and transparency across the function (i.e. understand function value proposition and cost levers, work with Team leads to build internal & external cost transparency)
- Work closely with team leads to develop, implement and report on performance metrics across infrastructure projects using internal analytics tools (i.e. QuickSight, PowerBI)
- Contribute and assist the finance team in the budget planning, forecasting and monthly/ quarterly/ yearly reporting cycle for the Infrastructure function
- Act as the change champion to drive transformational change initiatives
- Deliver team training and guidance on internal processes (i.e. timecards reporting in ServiceNow, timesheets reporting in SAP, procurement, supplier contracts)
- Provide commercial support in the proactive management of risk mitigation, including supporting development action plans, updating risk trackers and assisting in achieving timely closure of risk issues
Qualifications and Skills
Must have:

- Strong commercial acumen, specific experience building cost models (e.g. using TBM taxonomy) and target operating models in IT organisations
- Solid understanding of financial concepts and processes, specifically putting together budgets, re-forecasting throughout the year (e.g. 3+9), reading profit & loss statements (P&Ls)
- Experience working closely with Technical teams (specifically Service Management, Service Desk, Engineering, Infrastructure) and able to communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience designing and implementing team KPIs in an IT organisation
- Solid problem solving, decision making and analytical capabilities as this role requires a very resourceful mind
- Understanding of IT Procurement processes and how to promote total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Experience designing and implementing process automation, ideally using JIRA/ Confluence and ServiceNow
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel Macros, Advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Access
- Comfortable driving and delivering projects in complex or/ and ambiguous environments (using PRINCE2 and Agile methodologies)
- Experience managing senior stakeholders and achieving buy-in in an IT organisation
- Excellent communication (listening and verbal) and leadership skills
- Able to work collaboratively with and through others and as part of a team
- Post-Graduate degree such as an MBA or Masters in another business related (or other finance related professional qualification) subject

Experience and Background

- Experience managing the commercials of a business, specifically building cost models for IT organisations focused on cloud services (ideally familiar working with Apptio and ServiceNow ITFM tools
- Experience designing and implementing commercial processes within IT functions that drive cost transparency, cost efficiency and full cost recovery (i.e. time recording, recharge reporting, billing)
- Exposure to Data Centre operations and the financial strategy of an internal managed service supplier
- Budget allocation and resource planning, ideally in cloud services setting
- Experience working with Public Cloud Services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Demonstrating the successful implementation and adoption cross-functionally of process change initiatives
- Solid understanding of IT towers, cost pools and cost allocations
- Experience delivering cost optimisation projects, preferably in an IT organisation
- Comfortable to deliver projects under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Experience in producing in-depth benchmark cost analysis using industry reports (e.g. Gartner)
- Managing both client and stakeholder expectations
