The Team
Within KPMG's Technology service line, the Infrastructure Engineering team’s mission is to be the best Infrastructure team ever, by using the right tools for the right job, failing fast and automating like our lives depend on it. We work across capabilities from Cloud, Software Engineering and Data Science.

We use the right tool for the job so innovation is a key aspect to this role changing data engineering methodologies from traditional to Cloud native. Location
We have learnt during the recent global situation that remote working can, and has, worked for our large Engineering team. Whilst we have three core offices (London, Manchester and Leeds) we are open to remote working across the UK with a view to being onsite at least one day per week.

The Role
You will be leading the charge on building cutting edge and cloud native data solutions, services and outcomes for some of our clients most complex data related problems. Also working to continuously improve our clients existing cloud data platforms and pipelined deployments, whilst collaborating with colleagues to bring fresh ideas and perspective of what the right tool and resources are needed for the best outcomes
• Build and Run cloud native data resources, tools and solutions in any of the three leading public cloud environments (AWS, Azure and GCP)
• Manage, mentor and grow your own team of Cloud Native Data Engineers
• Automate like your life depends on it. Keep out of the portal, and where possible build solutions with code and run that code through pipelines
• Transforming a wide variety of data sets at different scale into valuable insights that form decisions
• Manage relationships with clients to become a trusted delivery partner
• Represent KPMG as a Cloud Native Data Expert advising our clients on resources, tooling and methodologies
• Support your wider Engineering community by assisting other teams, sharing knowledge, debugging problems, contributing code to central projects, and any other things you can think of
• GTD – Get things done. Use the DevOps culture to bring capabilities together and ship products

The Person
• You have the ability to understand the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them.
• You know how to facilitate difficult discussions within the team or with diverse senior stakeholders.
• Have hands on knowledge of many of the Data Analytics and Database resources from the three main Cloud providers such as
o Data Factory
o Data Bricks
o Stream Analytics
o Big Query
o Data Flow
o Athena
o Kenisis
o Redshift
• You understand concepts and principles of data modelling and can produce relevant data models
• You have the ability to identify areas of innovation or improvement to existing data solutions
• Proven experience managing a team of engineers or engagements and being responsible for delivering projects
• Ability to context switching between talking technical to other engineers, to explaining the business benefits of cloud native data tooling to non-technical business partners
• Product focussed, build once and reuse
• Build it run it, take ownership of your code and solutions
• Automates everything including testing
• Proven experience working in an agile environment
• Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision
• You like nothing more than to watch colleagues flourish under your guidance
• Be a technological cloud advocate to a wider audience inside and outside of the business
• Curiosity - Bring fresh and bold ideas to the team and wider firm
