Job DescriptionThe Contentious Insolvency and Restructuring team in London are looking for a Case Administrator to join their team.
The team is responsible for delivering a number of personal and corporate formal insolvency engagements together with a number of court appointed receiverships.
These matters are often litigious, complex and multi-jurisdictional and the engagements are typically delivered whilst working closely with legal teams.

The role will be based predominantly in our Canary Wharf office but the nature and unpredictability of the work will mean that some travel (and possible international working) will be required.
Applicants should be ready to work in dynamic, flexible and fast moving environments.

The team is not aligned to specific sectors and specialisms, however there are individuals with significant experience in certain areas and situations and we would welcome this in any applicants.
Applicants however should expect to work across all sectors as situations and client demand.



Key responsibilities

- To be an effective Case Administrator within the Contentious Insolvency and Restructuring team you will be responsible for the following:
- Working alongside engagement managers and engagement leaders to help deliver insolvency cases which can be large, high-profile and complex;
- Ownership of a portfolio of cases, with responsibility for pro-active case progression and statutory compliance;
- Supporting the engagement manager to undertake detailed investigation work and analysis to maximise asset recoveries for the insolvent estate;
- Liaising with top-tier lawyers and other KPMG teams (including Forensic) in the UK and overseas to deliver various aspects of the role;
- Producing general correspondence, minutes, file notes, emails, schedules and analysis;
- Assisting the case manager to produce statutory reports;
- Addressing telephone enquiries efficiently and effectively;
- Working on engagements to scope, time, quality and budget complying with KPMG engagement management practices;
- Inputting data into and maintaining our Insolvency Practitioners System (full training will be provided if required);
- Engaging in team discussions to learn and develop your own experience;
- General administrative support to the team;
- Participating in marketing events and developing internal and external contacts.


The Person

- You will be committed to in a career in insolvency and may have obtained a formal insolvency qualification. Prior insolvency experience is preferred;
- You have a willingness to learn quickly and operate as part of a team;
- You have an interest in commercial and financial matters are able to demonstrate practical common sense;
- You will have good time management and organisational skills together with the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure that deadlines are met;
- You are conscientious and are able to produce high quality, detailed and accurate work;
- You will be confident and articulate in your dealings with all parties both verbally and in writing, in what can sometimes be difficult situations;
- You will have the ability to work innovatively and “self-start”, either individually or as part of a team;
- You will have the ability to assess the various alternatives for dealing with specific case issues and present suggestions to the case manager;
- You should be IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel and preferably IPS.


Qualifications and Skills

- 3 A-Levels;
- GCSE A-C Maths and English;
- A good technical knowledge of insolvency;
- A good understanding of Excel and PowerPoint would be valuable, although relevant training can be provided;
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills;
- Good people skills;
- An ability to work well within a team, whilst also being self-motivated and focussed to facilitate lone working as required.
