Senior Lead SAM Consultants

You will work as a Senior Manager within the KPMG software licensing team selling and delivering engagements related to software license compliance and / or software asset management.

You will demonstrate expertise in several software vendors, with emphasis on SAP. In line with your subject matter expertise you will work, day to day, on projects where you will help KPMG clients to understand the commercial risks or cost saving opportunities relating to their software licensing. Day to day you will reflect best practice in project management and industry standards and act as an evangelist of software asset management inside and outside of KPMG.

You will work in a virtual and matrix environment to ensure project delivery is executed to the highest standards and risks and issues are effectively identified, managed, and mitigated. This will entail managing multiple concurrent and complex projects at any one time.

With a broad range of stakeholders, you will need to communicate, challenge, and influence at all levels. Your main alignment will be within KPMG UK’s ‘Contract Performance & Insight’ team.

The Successful Candidate will have:

• Demonstrable experience in software asset management, showing clear proficiency over software licensing (all aspects of contractual, technical, and commercial, activities), alongside excellent understanding of software technology and related controls.
• Domain specific licensing knowledge relating to SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, & IBM. With clear understanding of on premises and subscription type software licensing.
• Experience of managing a wide range of internal and external interactions and comfortable working and communicating with all management levels.
• Commercial awareness and experience of taking software asset management services to market, with an underlying willingness and enthusiasm for business development.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills complimented by equally strong organisational and Microsoft Office skills.
• Demonstrable ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines with comparable confidence, tenacity, and ability to deal with resistance and push back.
• Experience of managing and coaching more junior team players.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement and problem solve.
• Ability to lead, influence, and team up, with others.

Key Responsibilities

Acting as a KPMG Engagement Manager to lead teams and deliver engagements.
Engagement Management:

• Seamlessly manage multiple complex projects from across a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Deliver excellent service.
• Following & completing KPMG risk management processes.
• Following & completing KPMG financial management processes.
• Day to day interactions with client stakeholders.
• Developing work plans to achieve contracted project scope.
• Responsible for managing timeline and budgets.
• Leading teams to execute those work plans.
• Tailor working practises and approaches based upon your audience.
• Supervising the preparation of reports and other client deliverables.
• Process and review of software license entitlement and contracts.
• Analysis of software installation and consumption data.
• Reporting of commercial risk or cost saving opportunities.
• Help clients enact and track mitigation actions.

Business Development:

• Increase business with existing clients.
• Building relationships with prospective clients and pursue new opportunities.
• Work with counterparts at KPMG to deliver expertise and pursue new opportunities.
• Developing new propositions and bringing them to market.

Practise Development:

• Supervising and coaching junior members of staff.
• Identifying and implementing process and methodology improvements and efficiencies

Preferred Experience

• Domain expertise in multiple software vendors (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, VMWare, and SAP).
• Demonstrable expertise in SAP licensing
• Extensive experience in software licensing.
• Experience in a people management role.
• Proven record of implementing / managing SAM capabilities or projects.
• Practical knowledge or/and certification of ISO 19770, ITIL, CSAM.
