The role

The role includes executive level client interaction and combines the role of a project manager along with specific audit manager responsibilities although does not encompass audit work itself. Primary responsibilities include tracking and reporting on engagement progress and performance against budget including overruns, co-ordinating resourcing needs, acting as an escalation point for client delivery of information and generating efficiencies through sharing knowledge and project management skills between UK teams.

In addition, the role involves co-ordination of the client’s 100 plus global statutory audits and will be the face of KPMG in providing regular updates to senior client finance leads for overseas statutory accounts. You will be responsible for the preparation and agreement with the client of the fee proposal for all global statutory audits and for agreement of all overruns for global audits. Experience in commercial discussions is key therefore.

In depth knowledge of the audit process, and relevant direct experience in auditing, is a pre-requisite for the role as you will be interacting with senior client contacts, multiple senior KPMG teams in the UK and senior global KPMG teams involved in local statutory audits. You will be responsible at group level for summarising key issues with senior KPMG and client contacts and helping marshal and ensure their resolution.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA or international equivalent
• Previous exposure of working in audit within a 'Big 4’ or mid-tier firm would be desirable
• The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals both internally and externally at different seniority levels
• Experience of budgeting and resource allocation procedures would be desirable
• Strong IT literacy, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
