Audit Compliance Senior Manager

As the Firm moves towards operational separation and the FRC enhances their remit in readiness for the establishment of ARGA in 2023, we need a Senior Manager level candidate to manage the day-to-day activity of the Audit Compliance Team and the engagement process with senior internal and external stakeholders.


You will play a key role in managing the Audit Compliance Team with the purpose of ensuring KPMG Audit UK has transparent, credible and respectful relationships with our Audit regulators built on trust and audit quality.


Develop and maintain a regulatory compliance framework to ensure that KPMG Audit UK are able to understand and effectively manage its exposure to regulatory risk, ensuring a best practice approach is adopted and regulatory requirements are met. This is achieved through:


Providing respected advice and guidance on regulatory matters to the Audit business.


Providing strong independent challenge and oversight of the business.


Providing respected assurance to the Audit Executive and the Audit Board.


Having a strong and positive relationship with regulators.

Administration of stakeholder management with the FRC and Recognised Supervisory Bodies.


Mange process for dealing with information requests from regulators including co-ordination and tracking the response to all commitments made by the business.


Ownership of the planning process for Audit Compliance to ensure that all regulatory commitments are met and resources are effectively allocated in relation to regulatory risk priorities.


Management of regulatory administration framework including, regulatory registrations (e.g. Third Country Regulators) and regulatory approvals and consultations.


Maintain a governance framework for managing and internal reporting of regulatory risks and issues. This includes documenting the operational process and procedures for the Audit Compliance Team and supporting the Head of Audit Compliance with internal MI and governance meetings and action tracking.


Maintain a register of all regulatory reporting and notification requirements and manage the process to ensure that they are met.

3.1. Management:



You will help the Head of Audit Compliance to plan and manage the work of the Audit Compliance team of 3 colleagues.

3.2. Stakeholder Interaction & challenges:



You will report to the Head of Audit Compliance but also be required to interreact regularly with the Audit Executive, Audit Board and Risk Executive.

3.3. Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:



This is a management role in an area of major risk, impacting across Audit. The role will require excellent organisational skills and will include the requirement to ensure regulatory commitments and deadlines are met.

4.1. Experience



Essential



Awareness of the different types of service delivered out of the Audit Capability Group and the key differences between financial statement audit and key non-audit services


Experiencing delivering either financial statement audit or non-audit reporting engagements.


Decision making around engagement acceptance at manager level or above in an audit or professional services practice


Understanding and documenting policies, processes and controls, identifying weaknesses and making and implementing recommendations


Identifying and reporting on trends in data


Project management of multiple workstreams alongside unpredictable consultation workload.


Able to get to grips with technical content including law, regulation, assurance standards, contracts and policy and recommend how to apply to practical scenarios


Confident in exploring opportunities with engagement leaders


Awareness of the nature and effect of key clauses in professional services contracts


Desirable



Experience of delivering a range of services at manager level or above within an audit practice, for example non-financial assurance, grant reporting and agreed-upon procedures



Experience of drafting and agreeing scope of work, liability and release of report sections in professional services contracts and hold harmless agreements



Experience of performing risk assessments, scoring risks and preparing risk registers
