Job Summary

The Investment Analytics team, which is a specialist modelling team in the Valuations practice, is seeking an experienced hire to join the team at Associate level, based in London.

As a member of the Investment Analytics team, you will work on Valuations engagements which require a significant modelling component. This will primarily be when we will be releasing our valuation models to clients, or helping them to prepare models for buy-side and sell-side transactions.

Investment Analytics is a growing team within Valuations and we are keen for somebody to join who is committed to helping the team develop and expand. You will be an integral part of a team and will be directly involved in Business Development, future recruitment and team training.

The team is advising on complex and global valuation assessments in the context of transactions, accounting requirements and valuations for reporting purposes to the fund investors.

Key responsibilities include the following:
- Construction and maintenance of valuation models
- Construction of transaction and investment case models
- Design, perform and interpreting advanced financial analysis with minimal guidance
- Brief, manage, prioritise and review the work of one or more junior colleagues including KGS
- Takes responsibility for ensuring project planning, monitoring and administration is completed in an appropriate and timely manner
- Provide guidance and mentoring for junior team members
- Day-to-day contact with the client including attending client meetings and drafting client communications
- Using own initiative and sound judgement to identify key issues and client needs, developing suggested valuation methodologies and approach, elevating and consulting with other team members as required
- Producing written reports tailored to client’s specific needs and requirements on the project
- Clearly presents key issues from analysis to the clients as well as presenting at internal department meetings
- Takes responsibility for one or more team initiatives
- Actively supports the team in relationship management initiatives for business development initiativesThe successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following:
- ACA or equivalent qualification
- Background in modelling would be advantageous (high excel proficiency and experience in building financial models)
- Understanding and familiarity with a range of valuation methodologies discounted cash flow, income and cost approach
- Strong quantitative skills
- Excellent attention to detail with an ability to deliver high quality presentations and analysis
- Strongly rated self-starter who demonstrates initiative, confidence and solid influencing skills
- Strong project management skills and demonstrable ability to deliver high quality work
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proven record of getting quickly up to speed and gain in-depth understanding of the business operations, the industry and the economy in question
