Job DescriptionThe Role

- Assist senior team members in building and sustaining positive constructive relationships with clients/potential clients/other external stakeholders as well as inside KPMG
- Fulfil a key team member role on both smaller and more complex assignments, working closely with senior team members, other internal specialist teams, as well as coaching and reviewing work of junior staff.
- Assist in producing high quality deliverables, which will require effective planning and organising of work tasks, developing focused and insightful analysis, monitoring progress, meeting deadlines and adapting to changing circumstances quickly.
- Assessing analysis from multiple angles and dealing effectively with ambiguity to ensure all relevant issues are flagged and considered appropriately
- Assist in the identification of and management of risks and help ensure the Firm's risk frameworks are implemented rigorously
- Proactively driving forward new and creative ideas which benefit the client

Role Description

- Perform detailed analysis of financial statements, including audited financial statements, management accounts and supporting financial data when requested (including extraction of publicly available financial information)
- Be fully competent on financial analysis methodology in respect of balance sheet (including but not limited to non-current assets, working capital and indebtedness), income statement (including but not limited to revenue, gross profit and EBITDA elements) and cash flow analysis.
- Prepare and interpret analysis in key value areas including underlying working capital, underlying earnings and net debt.
- Understand financial models and implied sensitivities and analyse underlying assumptions.
- Provide visualised output of the above analysis (e.g. tables, charts, graphs, timelines etc.) drawing out the key findings.
- Draft parts of the due diligence report for manager’s review.

- Participate in conference calls and face-to-face meetings with targets’ management, clients and bidders, including assistance with preparing call agendas and Q&A registers, keeping and circulating minutes as a result of the calls/meetings.
- Assist with preparation and updating of information request lists
- Assist Partners, Directors and Associate Directors in market research and preparation of pitch-packs and proposals.

- Coach and manage junior staff members (on-shore and off-shore), providing constructive feedback when requested.
- Perform initial review of the tasks performed by junior team members.
- Liaise with other specialist work streams (tax, legal, IT etc.) for effective delivery.

- Understand wider industry and market issues. Keep up-to-date with the most recent developments in Consumer and/or TMT sectors.

Risk management:
- Assist with preparation of the project files according to internal Risk Management requirements engagement set-up
- Assisting with project delivery, including drafting hold-harmless and assumption of responsibility letters for manager’s review, liaising with the Contract Unit.

Qualifications, skills and experience

- ACA, or equivalent recognised financial qualification.
- Strong interest in the TMT sector preferably including relevant work experience related to the sector.
- Understanding and experience of business models and latest developments in cutting edge areas of technology and gaming sub-sectors.
- Experience of drafting or reviewing financial due diligence.
- Foundation in accounting, preferably through work experience in accountancy focused areas/teams.
- Analytical skills including the ability to interpret data quickly and effectively, generate insights and construct solutions.
- Strong Excel and modelling skills as well as preferred prior knowledge of Alteryx and Tableau.
- Prior knowledge of other technology enabled analysis/programming tools is advantageous.
- Excellent English written, oral communication and presentation skills. Knowledge of other languages is advantageous.
- Evidence of working successfully with top management teams.
- Strong personal impact with sophisticated interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and operate in high performing teams.
- Ability to perform consistently at a high level under pressure.
