This involves working with clients to produce complex tax computations and returns for HM Revenue & Customs, giving advice on corporate planning and restructuring projects and finding ways to reduce their effective rate of tax.

Tax Management Consulting (TMC) is one of KPMG’s priority service lines and due to the exciting growth the team is experiencing, an opportunity has arisen for a Manager to run delivery, grow and maintain existing and new client relationships, and assist in winning new engagements, with a Financial Sector focus.

The TMC practice assists clients to operationalise their tax function. This service line has become a focus area for companies as tax administrations have moved towards a risk based approach and companies’ tax profiles and reputations have come under increasing public scrutiny. Our team works with clients to ensure their tax function is efficient, effective and fit for purpose.

The Role

The role has a Financial Sector focus, although Financial Sector experience is not a prerequisite at this level. The candidate will be delivering work across a portfolio of clients, and will support client service teams delivering specialist advice. The candidate will also assist in winning new work by supporting identified opportunities.

The role will provide plenty of opportunity to interact with clients and the wider tax, audit and advisory teams across the firm.

We are currently recruiting staff to focus on Financial Services clients, although the wider team provides services to clients across all sectors from the largest FTSE’s (primarily Financial Services) to mid-market companies.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate must have experience of the following responsibilities:

- Assisting in the provision of tax input into Finance transformations
- Inputting into projects to support clients’ tax operating models and building continuous improvement programmes
- Supporting Senior Managers and Managers to implement tax governance structures across a client’s business
- Assisting with outsourced internal audits of tax functions
- Assisting in designing and implementing tax process and controls
- Researching tax technology solutions and providing implementation support
- Supporting on the operational aspects of Country by Country reporting

The Individual

Qualifications and skills

Candidates must be:

ACA / ACCA / CA or CTA qualified and/or have prior TMC experience.

Experience and Background

The successful candidate must have the following:

Technical skills and experience

- Experience of the Financial Services market
- A Tax Reporting, Tax Audit or Tax Compliance background
- An understanding of tax processes
- An understanding of Tax Risk Management principles
- Experience in designing and improving tax processes
- A broad understanding of tax technology offerings

Personal skills

- Proactively builds and maintains key internal relationships
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent team skills
- Shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style and content to different stakeholder groups.

Salary range - £43,000 - £48,000 plus negotiable benefits
