Assistant Manager - Software License Compliance (IBM)

The Role

Assistant manager primarily working on the IBM software compliance engagement. You will work as a sub-team leader within the client service teams delivering Software License Compliance projects for IBM and potentially other software license compliance or Software Asset Management clients. The role will include:

• Leading a small team of 1-3 junior staff in delivery of individual projects or project workstreams, reporting to a manager
• Planning and execution of test schedules to audit the completeness and accuracy of IT hardware and software inventories
• Interaction with a range of technical and managerial personnel from our clients and their customers
• Researching solutions to technical challenges and contractual ambiguities
• Use of project management tools to control and report on project status
• Preparing reports and other client deliverables
• VBA coding to automate data analysis tasks in Microsoft Excel
• Analysis of high volume sales transaction, software deployment and usage data using Microsoft Excel and Access
• Interviewing technical IT personnel in client organisations to document the architecture of technology solutions built on target software programs
• Using a range of tools (Active Directory, off the shelf discovery tools, ping, antivirus, CMDB) to inventory hardware and software deployed within a target IT environment

The Individual

Successful candidates will:

• Strong communication skills in English language (spoken and written)
• Experience of software license compliance / software asset management, in a big-4 environment, with specialisation in IBM software licensing.
• Detailed knowledge of IBM software licensing concepts including ILMT, sub-capacity, Passport Advantage, PVU, RVU, Authorized User
• Managing projects, including management of teams.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrate a strong general understanding of information technology, including a good understanding of Windows networks and IT infrastructure and concepts such as virtualisation, cloud, deployment and storage.
• Able to explain complex models and concepts to a non-technical audience
• Be highly organised with a logical approach to planning and performing tasks
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and focus on delivering high quality work
• Ability to manage a portfolio of tasks concurrently, drive projects to deadlines and work on own initiative to meet objectives
