The Integration & Separation Advisory Team

KPMG's Ops&Supply Integration & Separation Advisory Team is a growing and dynamic team. We work with both vendors and acquirers on mergers, acquisitions, divestments, exits and joint ventures, both pre and post-deal.

The team offers four key proposition areas:

- Separation: Supporting vendors to plan and deliver a credible, discrete standalone entity to the Buyer with value preserved and business continuity in place from Day 1, including supporting the definition and implementation of transitional service agreements.

- Integration: Pre and post deal integration design, planning and implementation to integrate the target business into the Buyer’s organisation whilst mitigating risk and enhancing value.

- Synergies: Understanding the potential benefits and costs generated through a proposed transaction, and the associated plans, interdependencies, risks and issues for the delivery of base and stretch case targets.

- Joint Ventures: Helping respective partners ensure the key value considerations are identified and prioritised early and delivered through the associated business plan, leveraging each party’s specific contribution and capabilities and managing broader stakeholder relationships.

Role Overview
You will gain exposure to a wide range of integration and separation projects. Your role on a project will include:

- Providing day to day support to project office activities.

- Supporting workstream leads to fulfil their workstream objectives.

- Ownership and maintenance of financial models on an engagement.

- Contribution of content for sections of reports/deliverables.

- When you are not working on a project, you will provide support to senior colleagues in preparation of proposal materials.

Role Requirements

Leadership & Management:

- To act as a role model for Ops&Supply Integration and Separation (I&S) team values (in line with the values of the firm) and demonstrates behaviours in line with the I&S Charter

- To regularly seek feedback from peers, juniors and senior members of the team, and act on this feedback

- To actively contribute to an open, constructive and positive team environment

- To proactively offer support to other team members when they have capacity

- To proactively identify their own development needs, in consultation with their Performance Manager, and proactively manages engagement work to ensure they can attend relevant training

Stakeholder Interaction & Challenges:

- Demonstrates relevant experience to deliver on Ops&Supply I&S deals, working alongside multiple workstreams

- Can take accountability for delivering high quality outputs, with oversight

- Can proactively suggest high-impact ways to present ideas to the client

- Can help the client think through approaches to solve client problems

- Can make positive and valued contributions to the Ops&Supply I&S project team when addressing client requirements

- Can confidently lead a client workshop or meeting, where appropriate, with some senior oversight and guidance

- Has impact and presence in client meetings, openly contributing a point of view

Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:

- Supports the team to manage engagement profitability, whilst applying professional judgement to protect the reputation of the firm

- Understands KPMG's engagement risk policies and Engagement Management steps

- Undertake MSD training and is able to set-up engagements within MSD, with oversight

- Pro-actively manages and tracks project to budget and understands engagement profitability calculations

Experience Required:


- Previous experience of Ops&Supply project management roles and responsibilities.

- Exposure to client environments and working with stakeholders at various levels

- Candidates will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrable personal impact, flexibility, drive and commitment.

- Working in a team environment


- Previous experience in Ops&Supply, Transaction Services, Management Consulting, or Audit

- Previous experience of managing other team members

Expertise / Technical Role Requirements

- Highly competent user of MS suite (excel, powerpoint etc)

- Business acumen, with analytical and problem solving skills

- Ability to understand how business model decisions impact operating model design/execution across operations, technology, risk governance and organizational design

Skills Required:
