The Team

Contract Performance and Insight
The CP&I team helps organisations gain clarity regarding their current position against contractual obligations. Where contracts require self-reporting on a trust basis, either or revenue or of purchase requirements, KPMG can help to independently evaluate whether the self-reporting is accurate and a fair reflection of the parties’ obligations. To do this KPMG works closely with the contracted parties and provides independent validation of reporting. The result of our work allows contractual parties to normalise any inconsistencies and/or provides assurance over the basis of future self-reporting.



The Role

You will work as a sub-team leader within the client service teams delivering Software License Compliance projects for our software vendor clients. The role will include:


• Leading a small team of 1-3 junior staff in delivery of individual projects or project workstreams, reporting to a manager.
• A focus on delivering software license review projects for IBM end customers.
• Leading data gathering processes, including preparing data requests based on licensing knowledge and conducting research and interviews with client stakeholders.
• Planning and execution of test schedules to audit the completeness and accuracy of IT hardware and software inventories
• Interaction with a range of technical and managerial personnel from our clients and their customers
• Researching solutions to technical challenges and contractual ambiguities
• Use of project management tools to control and report on project status
• Preparing reports and other client deliverables
• Performing data analysis tasks in Microsoft Excel including analysis of high volume sales transaction, software deployment and usage data
• Interviewing technical IT personnel in client organisations to document the architecture of technology solutions built on target software programs
• Using a range of tools (Active Directory, off the shelf discovery tools, ping, antivirus, CMDB) to inventory hardware and software deployed within a target IT environment

The Individual
Successful candidates will:
• Be a highly motivated team player with strong communication skills in English language (spoken and written)
• Experience of software license compliance / software asset management, ideally in a big-4 environment.
• Detailed knowledge of software licensing concepts for a minimum of one existing vendor client, with preference for IBM and Microsoft.
• Have some experience of managing projects, ideally including management of teams.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Be able to delegate tasks and oversee their completion using a combination of onshore and offshore resources.
• Be adept at working in a hybrid working environment, including working from home, the office and at client site when required.
• Demonstrate a strong general understanding of information technology, including a good understanding of Windows networks and IT infrastructure and concepts such as virtualisation, cloud, containerisation, deployment and storage.
• Be comfortable with ambiguity and have the confidence to solve problems and to fill gaps in technical knowledge by questioning, collaborating with others and researching technical and contractual documentation.
• Be able to share knowledge, coach and train new staff members and contribute to the team’s overall knowledge by sharing experiences and documenting lessons learned.
• Be comfortable explaining complex models and concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Be highly organised with a logical approach to planning and performing tasks.
• Be tenacious and focused on completing tasks on time. Show creativity of thought and problem-solving ability to generate desired outcomes.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and focus on delivering high quality work
• Be commercially aware.
• Be able to manage a portfolio of tasks concurrently, have a keen sense of prioritisation, drive projects to deadlines and work on own initiative to meet objectives
