Assistant Manager – Audit Analytics

Our Data team sits within our Digital Lighthouse Data & Analytics Consulting practice and enables our Financial Services clients to optimise the use of their data to deliver on their business strategy.

As an Assistant Manager, you will be joining a collaborative and energetic team that covers a broad range of data capabilities including data assurance, data visualisation, data management, data migration, data architecture, data governance, data integration and data modelling.

You will work across all our capabilities but will specialise and become an SME within Digital Lighthouse Data & Analytics. We are looking for a proactive individual who has exposure in Audit, is passionate about data, working with clients, has a thirst to learn and is excited to pursue a career in consulting and supporting us in growing our team.

The Person

Our Digital Lighthouse Data & Analytics team is dynamic and growing at a fast pace, so we are seeking individuals with high energy who can cover a vast range of data and analytics work, inspire change and make an impact within the team and client organisation. Whilst prior consulting experience is not essential, we are looking for individuals that can demonstrate the required core consulting skills and business acumen. For example:
- Prior experience of developing high quality analytics to support commercially focused internal audits function and support the Audit Team in building and strengthening relationships with the relevant business and management information teams.
- In-depth current sector experience in either Banking, Capital Markets or Insurance with knowledge of key business drivers and key regulations in the industry (e.g. GDPR, MiFID II, MiFIR, Brexit, LIBOR, operational resilience, FinTech and digital ledger technology).
- An up-to-date view of industry trends, tools and technology in chosen area of specialisation.
- The ability to build constructive working relationships both within KPMG and across client organisations, actively building a network and range of experiences to help address client needs.
- Experience working with subject matter experts and project teams to define, document and communicate data requirements.
- A proven track record of working with stakeholders to assess scope of work, developing business cases for data change and delivering benefits by leveraging industry insights.
- Experience in developing and/or executing an analytics-based solution with minimum supervision in at least one stage of its lifecycle (from strategy and scoping through to implementation and execution) and presenting this to a client.
- The ability to support winning new business through the development of bid responses (e.g. PowerPoint, bid management, project management).
- Supports the growth of the practice through driving internal initiatives, coaching and developing junior colleagues where required.
From a technology point of view, we are looking for individuals who have demonstrable experience in engineering and possess the following analytics and data skills:

- Providing data analytics services using software such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Python and R to deliver meaningful insights to our clients and help them to understand the risks and key drivers for their business;
- Working with our internal audit teams to integrate analytics more deeply into the internal audit methodology, and with our clients to embed analytics into their business and culture;
- Data Analysis experience such as data mapping between various source systems and target systems and defining the data transformation rules;
- Good understanding of Cloud platforms including AWS, Azure and Google;
- Demonstrable experience in building, managing and optimising integration pipelines;
- Development and delivery of new and innovative analytics tools to support evolving audit and regulatory requirements within the changing financial services environment;
- Contributing to various KPMG team’s, leadership and strategy in Advanced Analytics and volunteering to promote analytical initiatives;
- Engaging with teams across the business to further enhance governance, risk management & control frameworks through the implementation of best practices and industry standards;
- Educating / training the Internal Audit team to establish and develop a baseline capability in relation to data analytics tools, techniques and procedures; and
