Job DescriptionKPMG managed services provide an innovative and cost effective solution to the delivery of large scale review and/or processing activity across multiple industries, geographies and processes. The operation is experienced in but not limited to remediation, complaint handling, claims processing and conduct risk reviews.

Role Purpose

The Commercial Planning Manager is responsible for leading and driving pricing and commercial activity within the Commercial Planning Team, producing robust financial models to do this.
The role holder will, work alongside the Senior Management and Sales Team to scope out requirements, and then deliver pricing, for bids. During this process there will be interaction directly with clients, therefore the need for strong communication skills and commercial awareness are key.
During transition and set up periods the role holder will effectively produce initial plans to ensure optimum deployment of operational resources to deliver project requirements, before handing projects to planning analysts.

In addition, the role holder will be responsible for the development and maintenance of models used for the delivery of weekly and monthly reporting as well as for producing invoices.


- Lead transformation of operational processes into pricing and forecasting estimates by replicating real-world systems and scenarios using excel modelling techniques, analysis of gathered data, and operational knowledge to form a model which is an operational facsimile for commercial, fiscal and operational forecasting and ‘what-if’ scenario planning
- Contribute to the development of pricing strategy and ensure it is correctly implemented during commercial activity
- Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and assumptions
- Responsible for building and maintaining robust financial models to be used for pricing activity
- Work with Operations management and senior leadership to translate forecasts into initial operational plans and targets, relaying these to clients when required
- Responsible for delivery of financial models which inform financial reporting and forecasting for senior management
- Lead, motivate, performance manage and develop colleagues, maximising talent and contribution of individuals in delivering value
- Develop and maintain a strong governance framework for all activities delivered by the team
- Build relationships, especially with the Sales Team, and demonstrate flexibility to enhance management of activities across sites
- Ensure appropriate risk controls and governance procedures are in place mitigate any potential errors and risks
- Investigate options in procedure and software to potentially increase team effectiveness or efficiency
- Report issues of concern and/or business incidents to Senior Leadership
- Provide support and cover for operations support levels across and upwards within Managed Services

Essential Experience

- Experience in an operations planning, pricing, commercial or financial modelling role
- Proven ability & experience in financial modelling
- Advanced ability in using Microsoft Excel and Other Microsoft Office tools i.e. PowerPoint, Access
- Budgeting, forecasting and planning experience
- Proven ability manging senior stakeholders

Desirable Experience

- Hold an accountancy qualification (ACA,ACCA,CIMA)
- Preferred background in Financial services industry
- Awareness of the FCA, CCA, Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation, procedures and processes
