KPMG's Global Mobility Services (GMS) practice is a diverse and fast-growing area of our Tax business. We serve a variety of clients, from large multi-nationals to start-ups going international for the first time.

The GMS team have challenged and modernised the way that the Tax & Legal practice delivers tax compliance services to our clients by centralising the activities relating to the preparation and finalisation of tax computations and returns within the MS GMS department. All staff working in this area demonstrate exceptional tax compliance skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and produce a first-class product ready for issue to our clients. This involves working closely with tax professionals based in all of KPMG’s UK offices, along with our offshore partners, to deliver a seamless service to our clients.

We are looking to recruit Tax Assistant Managers with extensive tax compliance experience in personal or expatriate tax to be part of our Managed Services GMS compliance team. Working remotely and flexibly from home has indeed been the way for the last 12 months for our full team with great success hence the successful candidate can be located anywhere in the UK.
We are looking for remarkable candidates, ready for early assumption of responsibilities in a dynamic team.

Roles and Responsibilities

Global Mobility Services (Expat Tax)

- Review of UK Tax Returns for a broad range of international assignees.

- Preparation/review of tax equalisation calculations

- Ensuring clients are provided with up to date information on relevant tax developments

- Conduct arrival/departure briefings

- Day to day contact with HMRC

- Interaction with KPMG’s Global People Services network

- Maintaining good relationships with clients

- Being the day to day contact for allocated clients

- Management of compliance processes for international assignees

- Advising on risk issues relevant to client and assisting in mitigating these

- Some project management

- Delegation of work to, and training of junior staff

Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

- Qualified CTA or appropriate experience

- Excellent Team player

- Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.

- High level analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice

- Strong interpersonal skills are required in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.

Experience and Background

-Experience of managing global assignee populations and compensation accumulation for different countries

- Energetic, committed, and ambitious

- High level personal responsibility and accountability for own work

- Capacity to receive positive, constructive feedback

- Analytical; identifies core issues, investigates, evaluates and integrates information

- Communicates with impact, both in speech and writing, and in a way that is open, honest, consistent, and clear
