Job DescriptionThe Role


This opportunity will give you the chance to work as a "hands on" data architect, engaging with a variety of stakeholders from business through to engineering teams.

The Data Architect will work closely with our application development teams and MI manager to drive forward the data strategy for TPL MS Technology. The role involves collaborating with Enterprise Data Architects and Data Analysts firm wide to align to best practice and the KPMG Data management strategy.




Responsibilities

Deliver the TPL data analytics strategy, ensuring it is in line with business objectives, enterprise best practice and information security policies.

Own the data analytics products and tools across the TPL managed services business.
Manage a team of data and business analysts.
Develop BI reports using data visualisation tools like Qliksense, PowerBI and Tableau.

Work with software engineers and data analysts to integrate data driven solutions into existing systems and business processes.

Analyse technical system requirements then implement solutions to meet business MI requirements.
Design, develop and agree data models which meet business objectives.

Ensure any systems that are decommissioned adhere to the correct data policies.

The person


Proven experience working as a data architect in medium-large organisations, designing & delivering complex data architectures and models.

Broad knowledge of data integration, data quality, multi-dimensional design, data mining and ETL processes and methodology.

Experience of reporting, analytic and data visualisation capabilities such as Microsoft SSRS/SSAS, IBM SPSS Modeller and Tableau.

Experience building large Operational Data Sources (ODS's) and Data Warehouses.

Proficient in the creation of logical data models, preferably within the financial services sector.

Proficient in the use of Qliksense and PowerBI would be advantageous
Excellent understanding of business complexity and system interdependencies.

Experienced in using SQL Server 2017 and SQL Azure.

Strong problem solving skills and ability to logically analyse complex requirements, processes and systems to put solutions in place.

The Tax Centre of Excellence is a delivery centre which provides KPMG’s tax compliance services to clients. Our goal is to achieve the highest standards of quality at a cost effective price point. Our team of 200 tax professionals is supported by an operation support structure covering multiple disciplines. The successful candidate would form part of this team.

The role would is full-time in Glasgow, with some travel required to London and other locations around the UK.
