The Team

We are a team of 150+ technologists providing technology enablement services and solutions across the Tax and Legal business. This business has 250+ tax & legal professionals covering multiple disciplines.

The team is made up of Product Owners, Business Analysts, Multi-disciplinary Engineering teams and IT Service delivery professionals working on a large portfolio of systems used to improve productivity and solve key business problems across Tax & Legal.

We also build cutting edge web portals for clients to interact with KPMG, maximising collaboration and ensuring seamless delivery of information to our clients.

The Role

The Analytics Lead will be an integral part of a team delivering analytics solutions to clients across KPMG’s Tax & Legal practice.

Working with a mixture of UK-based and India based data engineers and data analysts you will play a key role in designing and implementing analytic solutions and embed best practice across the team to ensure the quality of solutions are market leading.

You will be expected to showcase the power of analytics solutions during client pitches and internal knowledge sharing events.

The role can be based anywhere in the UK, though preference will be given to candidates in Glasgow and London. Regular travel to Glasgow or London will be required once travel conditions permit this. Remote or part-time workers are welcome to apply.

Whilst there is no expectation of existing knowledge of tax, we would expect you to develop a degree of domain knowledge over time.

You will have …
- Previous experience as an Analytics lead, lead data analyst or analytics engineer.
- Recent experience using advanced analytics to solve complex business problems
- Excellent knowledge of Alteryx, ideally with the Alteryx Designer certification.
- Excellent knowledge of data visualisation tools, ideally Power BI.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to logically analyse complex requirements, processes and systems.
- Strong people skills, able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels
- A passion for continual professional development and willingness to experiment with new technology.
- Passion about using data to drive key business decisions.
- Management or mentoring experience.
You may have ...
- Experience using the Azure data platform; Synapse Analytics, Data Lake & SQL Data Warehouse
- Strong SQL coding ability as well as Python scripting.
- Experience manipulating large data sets.
- An understanding of Machine Learning techniques
- Worked with Agile teams using Scrum or the Scaled Agile framework.
- Alteryx advanced or expert certifications.
- Experience of Alteryx Server administrationIn this role you will …
- Design and implement high quality analytics solutions.
- Lead teams to build Data solutions to help our business use data storytelling to provide services to clients.
- Work with teams of analysts using Alteryx and related tools to automate a variety of ETL and reporting processes for internal and external clients
- Work with teams of BI Developers to deliver visualisations that provide key insights to our clients
- Coordinate business development activities with senior colleagues across the business and present at client pitches
- Embed best practice and a culture of quality across the data team
- Coach and mentor others to help them achieving their potential
