The Team

Our Payroll team is based in Birmingham but our next Senior Manager could be based in any of our UK offices. We are a nationally run business with strong connections across the Tax and Legal practice providing core services in domestic and expatriate payroll compliance, working with a range of different businesses across industry sectors.

The Role



We are looking for a Senior Manager to join our Client Outsourcing Payroll Services management team.



Some of the responsibilities will include:


Ensuring the delivery of a high-quality Payroll service to our clients.


Managing a diverse portfolio of complex clients and being able to provide technical and practical process advice on a wide range of payroll delivery including statutory payments and deductions, expense and benefits, autoenrollment, off-payroll working, and inbound / outbound payroll operation (e.g. modified, net of foreign tax, s. 690 PAYE schemes)


Identifying opportunities to advise your portfolio of clients in relation to operational compliance and optimum practice.


Project managing payroll advisory assignments to scope of requirements, deadlines, risk management and compliance procedures are all met.


Managing work in progress and ensuring prompt billing and cash collection.


Overseeing the performance and career development of experienced and junior staff.


Qualifications, Skills & Experience






Candidates interested in this role should have the following skills and qualifications:


Qualified payroll professional (e.g. CIPP BA), with experience of working in bureau management and professional services environment with exposure to a varied client base.


Academically strong results in career to date coupled with a keen and insightful understanding of the existing and coming legislation impact payroll delivery.


Strong interpersonal skills are required in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.


A keen and insightful appreciation of the issues facing clients and an ability to introduce solutions to meet their needs.


An ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative.


A commitment to clients, colleagues and KPMG.


High level of analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice.
