Manager - Supply Chain - IGH - UK Wide

Date: Oct 8, 2021

Location: Birmingham, United Kingdom

Company: KPMG UK

We’re working to help transform the most critical supply chain chains in the country, making them more efficient and more resilient.

The Covid-19 pandemic and exit from the EU have placed unprecedented strain on supply chains. Our clients in infrastructure, government, and healthcare are focused on ensuring that critical public services continue to be delivered. And making sure the right goods, equipment and services are available at the right location at the right time, and in a way that ensures value for money, matters more than ever before.

We deliver digital supply chain transformation to these clients to make that happen. Implementing leading practice technology solutions that use data driven insight to make better supply chain decisions, improve resilience of the supply chain, and deliver processes in a more efficient way to reduce operating costs.

To make these technologies work we implement leading practice processes and operating models designed from the ground up to work with the systems. And we deliver change management and training so that clients change their ways of working to get full value from their technology investment, freeing up the time of their valuable supply chain resources.

We’ve invested £50m into developing our approach, and now we need more people like you to help us deliver our growing pipeline of work.

You’ll join a team of over 90 supply chain professionals working across all markets to deliver this.

We’re seeing growth in the following areas. So we’re looking for more people with skills and experience in one or more of:

• Understanding of supply chain analytic solutions, and how to implement and use them.
• Understanding and experience of the latest digital strategies and solutions for procurement and supply chain – including cloud based tools, advanced analytics, process automation, and AI.
• Designing and implementing new operating models that deliver digital first within procurement and supply chain functions.
• Designing and implementing new processes that take advantage of the latest technology – particularly Source to Contract and Purchase to Pay processes.
• Implementing procurement and supply chain technology solutions in one or more of the following: Sourcing, Contract Management, Purchase to Pay, Risk Management, Sales and Operations Planning, Inventory Management.
• Experience of Inventory Management and Sales and Operations Planning.

About you
We’re looking for managers to lead small teams of client delivery projects. You’ll work alongside and lead colleagues drawn from our wider consulting business. So you must be able to demonstrate that you’re comfortable working in cross-functional teams.

All our work involves delivering transformation. So you’ll need to show that you’re experienced at delivering change and working with a range of stakeholders to achieve this. An ability to communicate clearly is critical.
We expect our Managers to provide a broad contribution to team development – helping to deliver and improve our solutions, and coach and develop more junior members of the team including our graduates and apprentices. So we’d like to see evidence of how you’ve done this in your career to date.

Ideally you’ll already be working in a consulting role delivering technology enabled supply chain transformation and looking to take your career to the next level. However at Manager grade we’re happy to have an initial conversation if you are currently working in a line role and feel like consulting may be a good fit for you.

These roles are focused on working with our infrastructure, government, and healthcare clients. So experience of these sectors is advantageous, particularly if you have experience of public sector procurement regulations. Skills are transferrable so if you can demonstrate relevant experience in another sector you’re most welcome to apply. You will need to demonstrate a strong interest in working in these sectors and the key issues they’re facing however.
You’ll need relevant security clearance (typically BPSS or SC) for some of our clients. If you don’t already hold these clearances we may need to check that you will be able to achieve them.

If you’re interested, here’s what you’ll get in return:
You’ll be working to deliver leading practice technology solutions and new ways of working that help clients deliver infrastructure projects, transport services, government services, and healthcare in a more efficient way. Ensuring better value for taxpayer money.

We offer excellent career development opportunities, in particular a chance to work alongside and learn from other specialists both in supply chain and other teams. We’re growing rapidly at present so there are fantastic opportunities for rapid career growth.
We work flexibly and typically on client sites rather than our own offices. We’ve invested heavily in remote working and technology solutions and have been able to work more effectively than ever throughout the Covid pandemic. So we’re happy to discuss flexible working arrangements.

Our clients are based all over the UK, so base locations vary. However our team members are each assigned a base location in one of our major offices throughout the UK so that they are able to visit offices and be part of a local team for pastoral purposes.

This role can be based in any of KPMG’s main regional offices
