Job DescriptionThe Role

- A thorough understanding of healthcare datasets such as HES and SUS A proven track record of delivering complex analytical products
- Excellent communication skills with proven experience of having engaged with Healthcare clients at the executive and board level
- Exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft BI technology stack, including SQL Server, SQL SSIS, MS Power Query, MS Power Pivot, MS Power BI
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and data visualisation best practice
- Thorough understanding of best-practice approaches to the development of data models in Excel, Access and SQL (“our modelling tools”)
- Proven expertise in delivering best-practice data visualisations and interactive dashboards
- Thorough experience of incorporating business processes and user requirements into dashboards with a consistent workflow and/or actionable insight
- A passion and commitment to developing their technical knowledge in a changing environment and the willingness to share and develop this in others
- Experience of taking a lead role within a team that has delivered solutions to healthcare

Other requirements
- A numerate (computer science or maths-based) degree
- A professional qualification (e.g. Microsoft SQL Certified Professional)
- Positive approach towards problem solving under pressure, including the ability to think through a problem and apply a logical, analytical approach to develop a solution
- Working knowledge and experience with Tableau
- The ability to manage time and work independently with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to quickly assimilate information and propose workable solutions
- Ability to describe complex technical issues in a clear non-technical way
- Strong enthusiasm for solving complex problems with our modelling tools with a demonstrable ability to efficiently build solutions that adhere to best practice
- Strong analytical and interpretative skills Sustained attention to detail

The Person

Ideally the candidate will have experience delivering analytics using cloud technologies, covering the following:

- Understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends
- Understanding of big data use-cases using Microsoft APS, Parallel Data Warehouse, Hadoop
- Experience in migrating on premise workloads to the cloud Experience in architecting and developing cloud based solution using Microsoft Azure Experience of applying statistical and machine learning techniques using Azure Machine Learning
- Deep understanding in databases and analytics, including relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle), Data Warehouse and Big Data (e.g. Hadoop, Spark) Knowledge of real time/stream analytics
