The Role

Our Birmingham DC Pensions team sits within KPMG’s broader Pensions practice and has grown significantly over the last couple of years and is a key growth area for the business over the next few years. We are looking to strengthen the team with the addition of another DC pension’s consultant with a real appetite to develop a career in Pensions and passion for delivering client services in this area.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role are wide ranging and varied. The attributes and experience we are seeking will mean that the successful applicant should be able to do the following:

- Offer support to DC team in delivering projects within the required timescales.
- Deal with queries from providers and clients over the telephone and email in a timely manner applying judgement as to when issues need to be escalated
- Develop relationships both within the internal market and deliver projects in the required timescales
- Demonstrate ability to understand and develop market knowledge around trends, developments and product innovation taking place in the market
- Produce draft member communication materials working in conjunction with senior colleagues, clients, providers and other third parties
- Pro-active updating of the internal risk and compliance systems and files
- Support pension provider reviews, analyse tender responses and draft high quality summaries and reports, to include - PowerPoint presentations where appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills

As a general rule, you’ll be expected to meet the following requirements:

- As a minimum Grade B GCSE Maths and grade B GCSE English Language or equivalent
- It is essential the successful applicant be a quick learner and have a pro-active approach to work and client relationships.
- Highly driven and focused
- Work cooperatively and can build positive, constructive business relationships.
- Be self -motivated and organises own workload to ensure effective delivery of engagements/project
- Take accountability for delivering high quality, accurate work
- Organised and self-motivated with a desire to work with colleagues from different parts of KPMG.
- Self-confident person with an understanding of the need to present, debate and listen to both clients and colleagues
- Candidates will need to have a strong desire to start working towards relevant pensions qualifications

- Be able to demonstrate an ability to create an impact with clients and colleagues
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to learn new skills, organise own work, manage a number of on-going tasks successfully
