Job Description

KPMG’s IT Advisory practice helps clients transform the way that CIOs and their teams manage and deliver IT services to their customers leveraging our capabilities and cloud based tools.

We are growing our architecture capability to meet an ever increasing demand for our market leading services and are seeking IT management consultants with experience in one or more of the following disciplines;

- Solutions architecture
- Infrastructure architecture
- Applications architecture

The Role:

This is a Manager role and has three broad focusses;

- Supporting market facing colleagues to maximise opportunities
- Responsible for delivering complex, multi-stakeholder client engagements
- Make a significant contribution to building a strong Infrastructure & Architecture capability group

Advisors with an IT Architecture focus are required to use their industry experience and subject matter knowledge to provide services in the following areas:

Market Development
- Working with colleagues to identify and develop specific engagement opportunities – translating potential demand into new engagements
- Developing strong client relationships, understanding business problems and identifying commercial opportunities for KPMG
- Managing and coordinating internal risk/engagement management processes, developing high level plans, budget calculators, attending Deal Boards and gaining approval to start work.

Client Delivery;
- Leading engagements; delivering to time, cost and quality
- Good stakeholder management; managing expectations and gaining support
- Provide insight across a range of technology areas

Capability Development;
- Contributing to the development of a vibrant and profitable architecture capability group
- Working with colleagues to maximise our knowledge and experience. Harvesting approaches and credentials
- Sharing knowledge, coaching and advising colleagues.

The Person

Specifically we are looking to strengthen our team with deep subject matter expertise and experience from either an end user organisation or consulting background. Candidates should be able to demonstrate;
- Good communication skills and the ability to influence at a senior level
- Good practical experience in the delivery large scale, enterprise wide architecture transformation and consulting services
- Involvement in the production and implementation of Architecture Strategies covering multiple infrastructure technologies, associated Infrastructure / application architecture, development and operating models
- Experience of developing in-house architecture capability / consulting services
- A detailed understanding of systems architecture and delivery lifecycle approaches, including one or more of the following:
o Service Orientated Architecture (SOA)
o Agile development methods
- An in-depth understanding of one of more of the following areas;
o Solutions – enterprise architecture, design, development and delivery
o Infrastructure - Data Centres, Networks, Cloud
o Applications – ERP solutions (Oracle, SAP), MS Dynamics, MS Office 365
- Experience of providing a number of the following services:
o Assurance / IT Audit / Assessment
o Strategy development / Reference model definition
o Technical Roadmaps
o Solutions architecture & designs
o Implementation
o Technical Reviews
o IT Sourcing / Benchmarking

- Industry awareness of key methodologies, approaches and market trends.

- High energy levels, coupled with a desire to deliver to a high standard in a suitable timeframe
- Be self-motivating and also able to inspire and motivate others
- Excellent leadership skills, with a track record in the management of teams and delivery of projects.
