Job Description
The Role

Roles and Responsibilities

Working as a member of the client service team to provide corporate tax compliance and advisory services including:

- Managing tax compliance and advisory relationships with clients, including working with the teams in our dedicated Tax Centre of Excellence

- Providing tax advisory services to a variety of clients and managing the successful delivery of technically excellent advice (i.e. tax due diligence, structuring, international and other advisory work)

- Liaising with specialist teams in Indirect Tax, People Services, Stamp Taxes and overseas KPMG offices to manage their input into tax advisory projects

- Running client service teams, including working collaboratively with other areas of the firm, to ensure a seamless delivery of services to our clients

- Providing tax specialist input into statutory audit work

- Developing and maintaining client relationships, based on trust, and identifying leads for new work

- Being engaged with our clients’ needs, making sure they are kept up to date on developments within the corporate tax world that may affect their businesses

- Helping to prepare proposals for new work, including researching target and client companies and on technical issues to identify new solutions / products

- Seeking out business development opportunities with clients and targets and collaborating with Senior Managers / Directors / Partners in business development activities

- Keeping internal control records up to date and ensuring compliance with quality control procedures

- Dealing with client billing

- Coaching and developing junior members of staff

The Person

Qualifications and Skills

- ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent qualified with experience/knowledge of corporate tax and accounting

Experience and Background

- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (internally and externally) and be a team player

- Ability to exercise sound judgment and intuition

- Excellent interpersonal skills are required in addition to strong oral and written communication skills

- Exercises analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice

- Demonstrates intuition and pro-activity

- Passionate and motivated about working with people and clients

- Loves learning and keeps up to date with technical matters

- Inquisitive with attention to detail

- Practical approach to problem solving
