The TMT&C team is a national team of around 90 specialists from corporate tax, indirect tax, people services tax and technology specialists working together to help our clients manage tax throughout their business.<br/><br/>The work covers advising on:<br/><br/>-  the governance of tax &#8211; setting an appropriate tax strategy which is then embedded in the business with the processes and controls needed to ensure that tax risk and reputation is managed and the tax function is designed to deliver the strategic objectives; &bull; managing tax compliance and reporting &#8211; including advising on sourcing options and managing relationships with HMRC and resolving disputes as well as delivering global outsourcing projects; and<br/>-  implementing technology solutions to deliver efficiencies and manage risk.<br/> <br/>Services are provided to clients across all sectors from the largest FTSE&#8217;s or inbounds to mid market companies. The range of activities covered is broad with some members of the team focusing on particular areas. This service line has become a focus area for companies as tax administrations have moved towards a risk based approach and companies&#8217; tax profiles and reputations have come under increasing public scrutiny. Our team works with clients to ensure their tax function is efficient, effective and fit for purpose.<br/><br/><b>Role and Responsibilities<br/></b><br/>The candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of work across a portfolio of clients on the above types of services and will work as a member of client service teams to deliver specialist advice. The candidate will play a key role in winning new work by identifying opportunities and taking a lead role in proposals and developing the offering to clients.<br/><br/>Key responsibilities of the team include:<br/><br/>-  Advising clients on establishing an appropriate tax strategy in<br/>the current tax environment, including how to embed this in their business with the appropriate policies, processes and controls;<br/>-  Advising on tax function design &#8211; advising on the tax strategy and vision and then how the tax function should organise itself to deliver the objectives;<br/>-  Assisting clients to develop or strengthen their tax control frameworks;<br/>-  Assisting clients to develop and embed Tax Risk Assessment processes to identify, assess, mitigate, monitor and report tax risk;<br/>-  Designing and improving tax processes, often across all areas of tax, conducting client interviews and producing high quality, clear and comprehensive process maps;<br/>-  Advising clients and internal colleagues on compliance with the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) legislation and HMRC&#8217;s approach, including designing and delivering process and control remediation projects;<br/>-  Delivering projects to provide greater transparency around tax reporting, for example, 1) managing voluntary data collection projects and advising on how the data should be disclosed (in the accounts and / or stand alone reports) and how the tax position should be articulated to stakeholders; 2) complying with legislative requirements (such as the Dodd Frank legislation);<br/>-  Advising clients on how to manage their relationship with HMRC including advising on HMRC risk assessment processes and dispute resolution processes and options;<br/>-  Building an awareness of KPMG&#8217;s market leading technology tools across all taxes sufficient to identify how our solutions can address client&#8217;s business issues.<br/><br/><b>Qualifications and skills<br/></b><br/>-  ACA or CTA qualified with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience <br/> <br/><b>Experience and Background<br/></b><br/>The successful candidate will have the following skills:<br/>Technical skills and experience required<br/>-  Deep technical understanding of the SAO provisions;<br/>-  Practical experience of delivering SAO projects, including process and control remediation projects;<br/>-  Practical experience of designing and implementing tax strategies;<br/>-  Practical experience of establishing tax control frameworks, ideally across all taxes (corporate tax as a minimum requirement);<br/>-  Delivering projects to manage tax risk, ideally across all taxes (corporate tax as a minimum requirement);<br/>-  Designing and improving tax processes, experience of process mapping.<br/>Technical skills and experience preferred (though not essential)<br/>-  Internal audit experience / testing of internal controls for tax;<br/>-  Advising on data collection and reporting exercises and / or managing public statements and reputational issues around;<br/>-  Advising on tax function design.<br/>Personal skills<br/>-  Proactively builds and maintains strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;<br/>-  Experience of coaching junior team members;<br/>-  Strong organisational skills to manage large and complex projects/programmes with the ability to interact with different stakeholders at all levels;<br/>-  Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills. Services are provided to a broad range of clients across all sectors from the largest FTSE&#8217;s or inbounds to mid market companies. The range of activities covered is broad with some members of the team focusing on particular areas. Our AARTS team is a virtual group of circa 80 people, led out of London, which focuses on helping clients deliver accurate and efficient tax reporting. <br/><br/>Client and Market profile: The TMT&C team currently services a number of large, multi-national groups in the FTSE 350 and inbound subsidiaries/branches of overseas equivalents (e.g. Fortune 500). This includes the following sectors: Aerospace and Defence; Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing; Chemical; Pharmaceuticals; Food, Drink; Tobacco; Retail; Consumer Products; Oil &amp; Gas; Mining and Utilities; Media, Telecoms, Entertainment, IT etc.<br/><br/><b>Roles and Responsibilities<br/><br/></b>Due to growth in the Audit and Accounting Related Tax Services area, a tax reporting specialist is required to provide technical input in this exciting and challenging field. This person will be responsible for managing the relationships and delivery of a range of services in the AARTS area across a portfolio of clients, working as a member of a client service team within the group. <br/><br/>The role will provide plenty of opportunity to interact with clients and the wider tax, audit and advisory teams across the firm.
