- Service Provision Change – including initial and subsequent outsourcing, in-sourcing and off-shoring

- UK Start-Ups for multinationals – dealing with the wealth of immigration and employment law matters that need to be addressed by foreign businesses setting up in the UK
- Advice regarding Senior Executives – advising on contracts of employment and service agreements for senior executives, and on termination
Experience Required
The applicant will have experience of handling the usual day-to-day employment law queries like discipline and grievances, holiday pay, absence management and restrictive covenants. Good skills in drafting employment-related documents such as service agreements, compromise agreements, policies and procedures are also essential. Experience of advising alongside other professionals (such as tax or immigration advisers) and an understanding of the employment elements of cross-border transactions would be valuable. Ideally, the successful applicant will have advised on the employment law aspects of:


- Salary sacrifice implementation
- Employment status reviews
- Intra group transfers of employees including international assignments
- Global/offshore employment companies
- Procurement of temporary staff through employment businesses and agencies
The successful applicant will be confident in preparing for litigation in the Employment Tribunal and will have experience of drafting ET3s, taking witness statements and preparing tribunal bundles.

This is a growing team and the role will suit an ambitious employment lawyer with the desire and ability to play an important role in continuing that growth. There will be an expectation that the successful applicant will help promote the team’s work through participating in team and firm events, giving internal and external presentations, and producing articles for publication. The work itself is mainly non-contentious but there will be an element (probably no more than 30%) of contentious work as well. The successful applicant will be organised and efficient, able to produce consistently high quality work within demanding time frames but not afraid to ask questions to challenge or seek clarification when appropriate.

Education and Qualifications

Job DescriptionThe Global Knowledge Connectivity Leader is responsible for delivering and implementing the vision and strategy for all programs related to people across KPMG and leads the design and implementation of various Knowledge programs that enable
better connectivity among and between KPMG staff. This includes ownership for the Portal Personal Profile pages (My Site) and People Search (powered by KPMG’s enterprise search engine), Global CV initiatives, the capture/management of skills and experience information, and related initiatives.
In addition, the role-holder will be responsible for leading the change management activities to help drive successful implementation of connectivity initiatives.

This role provides significant support to KPMG’s internal social collaboration initiative (the Hub) especially focused on leading the business activities associated with IT enablement.

Additionally, this role also is responsible for the Global Knowledge tools’ metrics and analytics program reporting on all Global Knowledge platforms. This includes line management of one team member at the Global Knowledge Center of Excellence who supports these activities.

Reporting to the Global Knowledge Business Leader, this role is expected to apply business judgment, a strong understanding of the needs and behaviours of KPMG users, and the ability to deliver practical, results-oriented solutions.
This role provides visible support the Global Knowledge leadership team and Member Firm and Function Knowledge leads to help communicate and drive people connectivity strategies, and deliver meaningful support to their own Knowledge programs.



Role & Responsibilities

Designs and communicates KPMG’s vision and strategic direction for Connectivity initiatives and related programs.
Builds support among Firm leadership including the Global Knowledge Leader, Global KM Steering Group, KIIT, Functions and Markets KM Leadership and key support staff.

Takes ownership for end-to-end design and implementation of the plans and programs to drive key elements of the KPMG knowledge strategy, including as People Connectivity, Personal Profile Pages, People Search Functionality, Resume/CV Initiatives and Resume Management, and Internal Social Collaboration.

Oversees and monitors the development/testing of relevant IT enablers required to support specific Knowledge/People Connectivity initiatives, such as the rollout of new or re-engineered businesses processes as they are enabled and delivered using technology.

Manages the Global Knowledge metrics and analytics program. Oversees the monthly production of reporting on all Knowledge tools and the preparation of reports for leadership, contribution to the GET metrics pack and Global Strategy project KPIs.
Monitoring and analysis of metrics to provide insight of the value added by the various Knowledge tools and spot trends or anomalies in adoption and use.

Designs, reviews and monitors services delivered by the Global Knowledge Center of Excellence to support member firms in adopting and using the various people connectivity tools and initiatives, and the use of the Hub. Design and ongoing monitoring of offshore support of the ongoing optimisation of people search, managed by the offshore Center of Digital Analytics.

Manages Global Knowledge Center of Excellence resource dedicated to supporting Global Knowledge metrics and management of relevant shared services resources supporting member firms in the adoption of various people connectivity initiatives.



Requirements

Must be educated to graduate level with a degree in humanities, IT or business related discipline preferred. Post graduate qualification in information and/or business qualification preferred.

This role is suitable for an individual with knowledge and understanding of KPMG’s structure or similar heavily matrixed organisation and related processes, tools and technologies, and will suit someone who has at least 10 years experience of a role requiring development of knowledge management strategies and implementing knowledge management programmes. Significant international business experience required; one or more prior overseas postings required.

Extensive understanding and experience of Knowledge Management is a must-have, and an individual with experience of delivering innovative Knowledge services in a professional services organisation would be preferred.
First hand experience of the implementation of a major software enablement program would also be advantageous.

Outstanding, high impact presentation skills – both oral and written – are essential. .
Excellent communication listening, negotiation and interpersonal skills are imperative, with an ability to interact with confidence and credibility with senior partners and staff at all levels of the organisation.

Solid grounding in business management, especially knowledge of the Professional Services industry, and demonstrated project management skills, especially with complex, time-sensitive projects is essential.

Tasks and responsibilities
