About the programme

The three year T&R graduate programme is a great foundation to your business career as it combines structured training, work experience and on the job coaching to equip you with the professional skills and experience you need. 
We aim to support our people and help them achieve their potential. 

You will join a Service Line (Corporate Finance, Restructuring or Transaction Services), and during the three year programme you will have the opportunity to experience a placement, in a different area of the business, for a minimum of six months.  This will be tailored to you, to work around your project commitments as well as meet our business needs.  It will provide you with broader commercial understanding as well as the opportunity to expand your network and experiences.

We will also support you to obtain the ACA qualification awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales n or CA in Scotland.  The ACA programme has an excellent first time pass rate (for exams sat to date we average over 90% in T&R) which is usually between 10 and 20% higher than the overall ICAEW pass rate.
 
The programme is designed to support your development and give you a broad commercial awareness of the challenges a business faces across the deal and economic cycle.

Key Skills Required

You will experience an unusually varied and challenging range of work and you are expected to make a contribution to the teams performance early in your career. That means were looking for graduates with:
- the ability to work under pressure;
- excellent analytical skills and who are highly numerate;
- the ability to think quickly and logically and present their views coherently; 
- commercial awareness;
- good communication skills (with people at all levels of an energetic and successful team;
- pride in their work and quality of outputs;

Tasks and Responsibilities

In T&R, we apply deep technical knowledge and industry expertise to a broad range of complex and challenging transaction and business issues.  You will work with a diverse range of clients in the UK and overseas, including private companies, the public sector, private equity houses, leading financial institutions and individuals across three Service Lines.

Your experiences will enable you to gain broad understanding of how a business manages diverse situations and how we enhance value for our clients.  You could find yourself:
- undertaking research which leads directly to the origination of a deal for a client;
- working in a team advising on the most appropriate debt structure for a business;
- working with an investment bank on the stock exchange listing of a high profile client, reviewing financial information for inclusion in public documents;
- performing an independent business review on a distressed business for a lending bank;
- working overseas to collate and analyse financial information from a data room, and report key findings and recommendations to our client on the target business;
- negotiating with suppliers of a business, where the UK Firm has been appointed as administrators, to maximise the return for the creditors of the business.

Qualifications you'll work for

You will cement your practical on-the-job commercial experience with accounting and technical knowledge by studying for either the ACA or CA qualifications..  This will develop your competency and understanding in key areas such as accounting, audit, finance, management, financial reporting and taxation.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities

At KPMG you will provide a high level of management administrative support to our senior management working with a wide portfolio of blue chip companies with Financial Services (FS) Audit. Across London, there are three core FS Audit segments with professional staff across all grades. These Segments are Banking (240 professional staff), Insurance (160 professional staff) and Fund Management (130 professional staff).
Working across Financial Services the main function of this role is to provide a high level of administration assistance to the Resource and Training functions and into the business, supporting the Segment Managers across FS Audit Banking, Insurance and Fund Management.

This role requires strong organisational skills and proactivitly as the individual will need to independently manage their time across the functions and business. The individual will need to be confident, assertive and have the ability to prioritise their own workload and varying deadlines. This role will work collaboratively with other team members and will need to be a strong team player.

Role is at E1 level and is based at the 15 Canada Square office. All roles are subject to change with some notification, some flexibility in time is expected /required.

We are currently recruiting for two FS Audit Administrators on a permanent basis.

The responsibilities

Resourcing

Working as part of the wider FS audit resource team:
- Process high volume updates to Retain (resource management system), including creating and editing client bookings, holiday, training, sickness and maintaining joiner and leaver entries
- Cross check resource bookings to client model and SAP
- Report production, including availability, utilisation and forecast utilisation from retain and SAP
- Maintenance of central records, including promotion of best practice on MySite and MiniBios

Training

Working alongside the FS Audit Training Manager and Assistant Manager:
- Course booking/attendance monitoring
- Technical update monitoring
- Audit tagging monitoring
- Pre-course/post-course work monitoring
- Support with course cancellation process
- Training code monitoring support, i.e. intuition
- Maintenance of training matrix
- Assist with the FS Audit training guide updating
- Support with course planning cycle
- Assist with and attend events and courses as required
- Maintain course material library
- Process course evaluation forms and collation of presenters feedback forms for moderation purposes
- Support with the production of marketing material
- Update presenter tracker

Segment operations

Working as part of the segment management teams:
- Weekly timesheet monitoring
- Maintenance of FS Audit intranet sites
- Support into the segments on moderation process administration, handling sensitive information
- Business Continuity planning dependent on segment need

- Manage the on-boarding process across FS audit including:
- Interview administrative support
- Act as nominated administrative contact for all new joiner information
- Arrangement of IT equipment and phone extensions
- Confirmation of buddy and point of contact for buddy and new joiner
- Owner of welcome e-mails
- Co-ordinate central approach across Segment Managers and PML population to ensure all briefed of new joiners arrival
- Photoboard, distribution list and phone list updates
- Maintenance of central FS Audit Joiners/ Leavers log
- Completion of leavers administration and manage process

Ad hoc:

- Maintain trained interviews list – RISC
- Input into graduate / school leavers intake
- Assist with administration for and attend graduate induction events
- Support with work placements and work experience planning

Qualifications and Skills

- 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English, grades A - C
- Strong organisation Skills
- Strong multitasking Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- High levels of attention to detail
- Advanced MS Office, with especially strong excel

The group has locations in London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester, but is organised on a national basis, operating under a single national cost centre.
We provide in-depth advice on the strategic, financial and commercial issues driving investments in infrastructure across Transport, Power & Utilities, and Social Infrastructure in the UK and internationally. Our business is expanding rapidly and is looking for a high quality candidate to support our Power & Utilities business with a particular focus on water in terms of both project management as well as business development.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- Project managing the delivery of major engagements on a day to day basis
- Management of internal project teams and external advisers
- Management of a small team dedicated to water as part of the wider infrastructure group
- Undertaking and supporting pitching for new business with ideas
- Developing market intelligence and sector knowledge
- Leading specific business development initiatives

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate would:

- Have at least 6 and preferably more years of experience in the utilities sector, water sector in particular, whether at a company, regulator, another consultancy or another stakeholder;
- Have a sound knowledge of water and other utilities’ finances and financial structures, including high leverage and other types of financing used;
- Have a detailed knowledge of Ofwat’s current regulatory regime and prospects (FPL) as well as its application, including detailed regulatory mechanics;
- Understand the wider water sector policy debate;
- Have a knowledge and experience with other regulated utilities in the UK, for example in the energy networks sector including the latest reforms under RIIO;
- Bring excellent report writing, Excel and Powerpoint skills;
- Be skilled in financial analysis, financial modelling and valuations as well as regulatory accounts;
- Be comfortable discussing economic and financial theory, with at least undergraduate and preferably graduate qualifications in economics or finance;
- Be comfortable and/or experienced in an external facing role;
